I actually just got mine in the mail, although I don't plan on using it until my second time around. I actually like the size... I don't miss those ridiculously large, magazine sized strategy guides I used to have when I was younger. This manga-sized stuff is a lot better.
Looks pretty nice, although I kind of wish I got another mini-poster like with SMT:N.

Is there a way to download the movie directly from the Gametrailers site? Not that I'm personally aware of. I don't think they allow it for user movies for some reason. You can download the Gamevideos.com one, but that's it. Another point I wanted to make: Let me put it this way, if you have the guide. What's in that video is covered on one page of it. It's a drop in the proverbial bucket. The game appears to be absolutely massive.

Tempted to watch this but I'm not sure If I should. Do I go in fresh or watch the video? =/ If you're not sure, don't do it. That's my suggestion to anyone lol. There's other far less revealing videos all over the Internet, I'd stick with those.

Got my guide couple days ago. First DJB guide I've ever bought and I don't regret it!. For some reason, I was under the impression it wasn't going to be in color so I'm glad I turned out to be wrong. My only worry, is if the binding will hold. My SMT:N one has held up very nicely, if that means anything to you. I'm assuming they're basically built the same way... but I don't have the guide yet. Thanks for joining the forum, by the way.

Here's a 640x480 version if anyone is interested: http://www.gametrailers.com/player/usermovies/87147.htmlHopefully it's just re-hyping people up for the game that were a bit disappointed by the delay. I think it could help get new people interested in the game as well. I really don't think anyone will watch this and be like "well, after that I don't have to play it!" or anything like that lol. The game is really good so far (and reviews seem to say it will continue to be so) and I hope people make sure to pick it up. It has a very addicting quality to it and I often find myself wondering what might have been different had I said something else... even if it's just a different character reaction. I don't plan on doing any other clips, by the way. This (in particular) and what's out there are more than sufficient... This actually winds up spoiling very little in the scheme of things (I did a whole new game for this video, I'm a decent amount past this point), believe it or not. A lot of what is in this video has actually appeared in some official videos, particularly ones from Japan.

Yep, that's what's being used in the video. I'm not sure if you'll be happy with it, but you can check it out. I don't think it works too badly, but it has the same problems most games do -- if someone gets cut off by someone else, you can always see it coming.
I hate that lol. That's never how it would work in real life... and yet it happens when you see plays, movies, games, tv shows...
In the video, any dialog moves along automatically with that setting. Anything I have to press a button for has an arrow on the side.

I personally lost a lot of trust for reviews. I'm going to rent it (If I can) and try it for myself. I think the only way you'll be able to rent it is if you have Gamefly... I can't even remember the last time I saw an Atlus game elsewhere to rent. Probably because it's never happened lol. I don't really understand a lot of it sometimes. Most of the time you can't even buy these games at even Best Buy... although it looks like they'll have Persona 3.

I created a new video of the first 42 minutes of Persona 3. It's been uploaded to GameVideos and GameTrailers. It shows off every thing from the title screen all the way to the first time your character utilizes his Persona. Obviously the video is nothing but spoilers, so if you don't want to ruin anything for yourself just skip it. However, in light of the delay I figured some people would be interested in this. Unfortunately, the full sized video is just simply too large to easily distribute. It had to be compressed and lowered down to a 320x240 resolution. Obviously video sites compress video even more, but it's still definitely watchable. The main issue, to me, is that the audio is noticeably more hiss-y. "S" sounds definitely don't come off that poorly in the actual game. I was going to embed the video, but unfortunately GameVideos' player scales the video up and makes it look even worse. I would suggest going to the page for the video where you can either watch it or download it for yourself. Gametrailers, meanwhile, seems to have sampled the video up to a larger size. You can watch it here. Thanks!

I figured it might interest people due to the delay... Basically, it's from the first title screen all the way until the main character utilizes his first Persona. If you've actually been watching trailers and Japanese videos up until this point, you might recognize some of the scenes. It's going up to Gamevideos.com, gametrailers.com and Google Video. I just have to wait until they're done compressing it... To make it actually small enough to distribute it's only 320x240, but it's still watchable. I have a full resolution one in DIVX, but it's way just too big to waste the bandwidth on (900 MBs or something crazy). I'm working on other smaller videos, however... Those will all be in DIVX too and usually seem to clock in at around 30 MBs. The site used to use WMVs, but I'm moving away from that since DIVX can be played on Windows, Linux and OS X. Thanks for the reply, looks like the game is pure jewel, if you manage to get Aigis tell me if the clerk is selling the new equipment. Sure thing. I'm actually hoping to finish it before its new release date... At least for me, the delay was kind of a blessing. Before I couldn't really do much with it for the site prior to anyone else getting to play it lol.

Well, I've only had a it a few days. Put maybe a few hours in at this point.
There is no default name for the main character. You give him a first and last name.
You can choose between Easy and Normal from the outset. You cannot change this without restarting.
No Aigis yet. No quests from Elizabeth yet.
As far as the other stuff goes, it's pretty typical. The translation is good, some decent use of slang, etc. A few of the characters sound a bit more awkward, but I think this is largely due to their personalities than any translation issues.
Voice-over wise, it's good. Some of them I was unsure of at first, but as the game progresses they seem to fit better and better. The only one I'm not really sure about still is Ikutsuki.
I actually have a video of the first 42 or so minutes of the game that I'm working on uploading, so watch out for that.
