286  Be Your True Mind / Find Your Voice / Nirvana Now Archived at Digital Devil Database on: March 29, 2007, 07:13:22 PM
Those who visit this site are likely familiar with Nirvana, a fan site for the Digital Devil Saga series. Somewhat recently, the owner, Argilla, decided to close down the domain it was hosted at. She has a short post discussing this and the future of her sites at http://www.yosuga.net/">yosuga.net right now.

As such, Nirvana no longer had a home. She brought this up to me and figured the best bet would be to host it here, something I had already offered when it was down once before (although only temporarily).

So, basically, Nirvana is now hosted at this site. It will always be reachable at http://nirvana.digitaldevildb.com">nirvana.digitaldevildb.com. If you're looking for more Digital Devil Saga information than is currently provided on this site, Nirvana is really the best place to go. Be sure to check it out if you haven't already.

I figured I could also mention that if you have a Megaten related site that you're just not interested in hosting any longer for whatever reason, I'm more than willing to archive it here. Just send me an e-mail. I would make zero changes to it and it would simply be here for informational purposes. I'd hate to see some of the sites out there simply disappear.
287  Be Your True Mind / Find Your Voice / Persona 3 US Special Edition Info on: March 29, 2007, 07:11:46 PM

It turns out that http://www.gamestop.com/product.asp?product%5Fid=281719">Gamestop and http://www.ebgames.com/product.asp?product%5Fid=281719">EB Games have both updated their Persona 3 listings. The pre-order is listed for $49.99 with a ship date of July 24th. It's worth noting that this about a month later than Atlus has listed before. It remains to be seen which is the correct date.

Of special note is that the game is listed as a "Special Edition". Both sites claim that, while supplies last, Persona 3 will be packaged with a soundtrack and an official art book. The site seems to imply that this is something Atlus itself is doing based upon the wording. If you're interested in these items, it's probably a safe bet to pre-order the game as soon as you are able.

Thanks to Eric for pointing this out to us.

288  Be Your True Mind / Digital Millennium / Re: your favorite RPG's on: March 29, 2007, 11:27:49 AM
I guess the easiest thing to do is list them by system.

NES: Dragon Warrior III, Dragon Warrior IV
SNES: Earthbound, Robotrek
PlayStation: Persona 2, Suikoden, Suikoden II, Ogre Battle
PS2: Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter, Wizardry, Dark Cloud 2, Nightmare of Druaga, Dragon Quest VIII
GC: Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door
PC: Planescape: Torment, Fallout, World of Warcraft (although I rarely have an account, it is fun)

I know there's more, but those come to mind the quickest. I'm not a massive FF fan (I mostly like IV, although XII is good) and I cannot stand Kingdom Hearts. There's other games I like that I don't know that I'd consider "favorites", so I didn't bother with them.
289  Be Your True Mind / Find Your Voice / Amazon Marks Down Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner on: March 28, 2007, 11:19:55 PM
Amazon usually winds up recommending things to me that I already bought, but on the plus side I can pass the information out to those less fortunate. Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner for the PS2 http://www.amazon.com/Shin-Megami-Tensei-Devil-Summoner/dp/B000FPGZUE/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/102-4435045-8425726?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1173146685&sr=8-1">has been marked down from $49.99 to a nice $27.99. It's unknown how long this price will remain (Amazon is known to put things like this back up to full price quickly), so go for it if you haven't already.

Coincidentally, you can also pick up the http://www.amazon.com/Shin-Megami-Tensei-Summoner-Official/dp/0761554475/ref=pd_bbs_sr_2/102-4435045-8425726?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1173146685&sr=8-2">official Double Jump guide for $13.59. Or, just http://www.amazon.com/Shin-Megami-Tensei-Summoner-Official/dp/0761554475/ref=pd_bxgy_vg_text_b/102-4435045-8425726?ie=UTF8&qid=1173146685&sr=8-1">buy both at the same time for $41.58.

Good deal.
290  Be Your True Mind / Find Your Voice / Contest Winner on: March 28, 2007, 11:19:49 PM
I used a randomizer to choose between all applicable entrants in the .hack //G.U. Vol. 1 give away. The winner turned out to be http://www.digitaldevildb.com/bbs/member.php?u=287">Arjuna.

I've made attempts to contact Arjuna, but haven't had much luck yet. If for some reason I continue to be unable to reach the winner after another week or so, I'll be forced to choose a new one. Stay tuned.
291  Be Your True Mind / Find Your Voice / Persona 3: Fes Package Offers in Japan on: March 28, 2007, 11:19:27 PM
I was checking out the Konamistyle Japanese page today and headed over to the http://www.konamistyle.jp/customfactory/p3fes/index.html">Persona 3: Fes section. This section now details the available packages you can purchase on its launch date. There are four packages total.

The full version will contain the original Persona 3 and the Fes expansion disc. It is packaged in a newly designed box. It sells for ¥8,190 (about $70 USD).

The basic version will contain only the Fes expansion. It sells for ¥5,040 (about $43 USD).

In addition, there is a Special Edition version of both releases. The Special Edition basic package will sell for ¥18,800 (about $159 USD), while the Special Edition full package will sell for ¥21,000 (about $178 USD).

They contain the same three bonus items. They are as follows:

1.) A special Persona 3 branded version of Audio Technica's ATH-EM700 SV headphones, which are extremely similar to those worn by the protagonist in the game. They come with a Persona 3 branded carrying pouch.

2.) An orange rekishi figure. This little doll was apparently quite popular with fans, so they decided to actually make some. While there are no actual photos yet, it sounds as though these will be stitched fabric.

3.) A B2 sized poster (50 x 70 cm) featuring the cover art of the full version, done by the game's graphic designer.

I'm hoping to get a Persona 3: Fes section going soon, not to mention some updates to the main Persona 3 section. Stay tuned.

Besides Matyu just signing up and Cammy, is anyone still playing this? I haven't touched it in a couple of weeks. Might have to start back up again.

Not really. I've not had the time, personally. It's fun, but with so many games I've yet to finish that are actually in English it's kind of disappeared off my radar lately. I don't want to have to think too much with so many other things going on.

Plus, I'm concentrating on other things related to this site... Since updating the forums there's been some broken images that I've just not gotten to (multi-quote, for example) and I'm working on some other features like Jack News and even a site redesign. I guess Imagine is at the bottom of the barrel as far as that stuff goes lol.
295  Be Your True Mind / The Turnstile / Re: Megaten Haven Board Trouble(today) on: March 18, 2007, 11:23:09 PM
Boy you guys are negative lol. I used to go in the past, but I'm not a big message board kind of person anyway. I just made this one since Argilla asked me too... although, she doesn't really have time for it anymore.
296  MEGAMI TENSEI™ Uncensored / Tokyo 202X / Re: Anyone know where I can find a copy of Shin Megaten for the PSONE on: March 18, 2007, 10:07:50 AM
1.) There's no need to post this in two places. The site is hardly that busy that people won't notice them.

2.) You're only real bet is eBay. I personally don't own the PSX version and I don't know of anyone else here that does. Unfortunately I've only seen it on eBay a handful of times.

You can try random Japanese import shops. A few of them do allow requests. I believe www.risingstuff.com might be willing to help you.
297  MEGAMI TENSEI™ Uncensored / Nirvana / Re: Where find this?? on: March 16, 2007, 07:34:38 PM
Really, your only major option any longer is eBay. You probably won't see most of these pop up very often (I can't remember the last time I saw the SMT 1 and 2 remakes for PlayStation on there), although Soul Hackers is pretty common.
298  Be Your True Mind / Digital Millennium / Re: Current? on: March 10, 2007, 02:31:37 PM
Dragon Quest VIII is absolutely excellent. I've been a fan of the series since the original and I was very happy with it. Made up for some of the mess involved in VII.

And now that it's only $20 (in the US anyway) most people should just run out and buy it if they haven't already. It's completely worth it.
299  Be Your True Mind / Digital Millennium / Re: So any anime watcher ? on: March 10, 2007, 12:15:24 AM
There's no real double posting rules here as long as the new post offers something worthwhile. So don't just make a second post that could function perfectly fine as an edit. It drives me nuts when people rephrase their first post in a second post.

Personally, I can't really stand anime anymore. I used to be into it, but over time it because overly clear to me that so much of it is so similar and uninspired. It takes a lot for me to get interested in anything new. I generally am let down by the latest, popular series.

I have a huge soft spot for Macross/Robotech related work, though.
300  MEGAMI TENSEI™ Uncensored / Velvet Room / Re: Persona 3 Fes + Aegis Chapter on: March 10, 2007, 12:11:48 AM
I'm hoping yes... But it really is totally dependant on them working with Atlus Japan ahead of the Japanese release. Fes only releases a couple of months ahead of Persona 3 in the US. There's some chance, given that they've recently started announcing other releases of Japanese games that aren't finished yet (Odin Sphere, etc).

So I'm hoping. I have an interview vaguely set up with Atlus in the near future and it's definitely my major question.
