On hiatus

December 19th, 2019 by yksehtniycul at www.digitaldevildb.com

Today I’ve migrated the site to a new host (Opalstack) and fixed some things broken by the earlier migration (years back) and fixed some images photobucket.com downgraded (and somehow took down as I was working on migration) thanks only to archive.org having made snapshots of the site. I shouldn’t have left those as hotlinks, I probably forgot to make copies on the server, and have done that now for every image in the blog.

This site is a time capsule of the old days. It’s hosted on the same server as swordofmoonlight.net and swordofmoonlight.org which remain active and through which you can contact me. If you have an account you can still log in here. These days I do technical things with video game technology. I’m a little bit interested in Megaten fan-games if anyone else is too. I don’t know what we could get away with. I wouldn’t mind reviving the site for that purpose. I’m holding onto it in case I ever do, for instant street cred!

The forum is here (http://www.digitaldevildb.com/bbs/) BTW. It never got a proper front page link. I swear I remember the video games articles having a fancy drop-down menu for easy navigation, but it’s not there anymore. Could be I’m misremembering.

June, 2011

June 9th, 2011 by yksehtniycul at www.digitaldevildb.com

Hello anyone reading this site / still checking in now and then to see if anything has changed.

As far as I am aware, there is nothing newsworthy happening Megaten wise these days years. I am aware Persona 2 received a re-release treatment for the PSP similar to the treatment Persona received a while back.

Any past users are welcome to login via the front page and write new posts and articles for the site whenever they please. I don’t know if I personally will see the new activity immediately so that the new content can be published, but there is no rush… and maybe I can setup some kind of notification system for myself if I try (who knows)

I’m leaving forum registration off for the foreseeable future… at least until (heaven forbid) things might start looking up for Megaten / this website.

Registration is also disabled for the front page. If you’d like to contribute posts/articles you can post a comment to this news post which will allow us to see your email address in order to register/contact you.

I don’t personally follow any Megaten fan sites myself. I’d be curious to know if there are any new ones or old ones with a presently very active community (excluding Gamefaqs)

It’s time for school

For those of you who are still trying to justify buying yet another version of Persona 3, this time for the PSP, head on over to giantbomb.com where they are currently showcasing a 30 minute, in depth video of the game.

For those of you not in the know, P3P is a port/update of the highly acclaimed rpg Persona 3 which was originally released on the PS2. This updated version includes a new choice of protaganist, updated social links, new musical score, new endings and the ability to control all four party members in combat.

The one omission is The Answer, an epilogue game that was included on Persona 3: FES, released in 2007, also for the PS2.

If you are curious about this new reincarnation of Persona 3, then you can see the video here: link

North America gears up for a Strange Journey

January 10th, 2010 by cj iwakura at www.digitaldevildb.com

Atlus USA’s website for Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey is now online. SJ marks the series’ Nintendo DS debut and according to the website is slated for a March 23rd release.

Mark your calenders and cancel all engagements!!

Included are a handful of character bios, as well as some background info on the gameplay and general setting, and some series history.

Much like the old Super Famicom Shin Megaten games, Strange Journey consists primarily of immense first person dungeons. There will also be demon recruitment, endings that vary based on alignment, and cryptic white-haired characters who may or may not be fallen angels in disguise.

Fredric Paul’s article touched off a discussion with some colleagues of mine, who agreed that Google abuses has become careless thanks to its “monopoly” with AdSense by (among other things) callously dropping AdSense participants for alleged click fraud without a reasonable appeals policy. A request for an explanation fell on deaf ears, and my colleague was left with the impression that Google “would have been more likely to work with me,” if it weren’t in such a strong position.
