Well, on the flip side, if I'm getting some bonus items I don't want them to fall apart when I open them up. Another week or so won't kill anyone.

Persona 3 won't be making it's July 24th release date.  It was http://www.atlus.com/atlus_forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=116&sid=e1bb43ee4fa445d0980d1e8f53f56d45">revealed on the Atlus forums that the game will see a slight delay in shipment due to issue with the include art book. The full text of the post is below:

Due to a manufacturing error with regard to the Persona 3 Art Book, the title will regretfully narrowly miss its scheduled ship date of July 24th, 2007. This was an unforeseen scenario, and one regretfully out of our control.

Presented with the choice of compromising on the quality of the art book, or shipping the game without said extra, we decided to have the art book redone with a higher quality binding, which will cause a very short delay in the ship date of the title.

While all other materials and packaging related to the game are complete, we were unwilling to sacrifice the art book, and as such will expedite the manufacturing process to the best of our ability in order to release the title as soon as is possible.

We appreciate your understanding and will release a formal announcement when Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 ships.

Something odd I noticed about this review... You can click the scores to see little paragraphs on why the writer gave it why he/she did. I was surprised to see a comment saying that they "...really should have changed the names to suit an American audience...".

Persona 3 officially releases tomorrow and as such the reviews are starting to pour in. Here are the ones you can check out so far.

I'll add more as time goes on, but for the most part it's safe to just watch Metacritic's page on the game.

I'm kind of done with neoGAF. The SMT threads are fun, but I really just haven't enjoyed the place for a long time aside from that. Might explain why I visit like 3 times a year now lol.

I actually got my review copy today. I still have the retail version on pre-order, though. I'd kind of like to have the box and all the extras, honestly. Review copies from Atlus are basically just silver discs with "do not sell" printed all over them.

Still, it's nice to be ahead of the game even by a little bit. I'm going to see about adding content today and tomorrow, since I'm sure most places won't even have it in stock until after the 24th.

I noticed today that the official http://www.atlus.com">Atlus USA website has been redesigned. Kind of a surprise.  Head on over and check it out.

I'm mostly expecting in the 8 range to be honest. I figure GI and PSM will be hard on it, as they seem to dislike SMT-related titles in general from what I've seen.

Although, personally, I don't think numbered scores should be used at all... but that's another story entirely lol.

I've been holding on to these wallpapers for a while because I wasn't sure if Atlus USA was planning on making them available. Now that it looks like that won't be happening, I feel OK about sticking them up on the site. These were only available on the Japanese bonus disc that came with pre-ordering the game. They were kindly provided to me months ago by a member of NeoGAF, although unfortunately I'm not sure who it was any longer (feel free to let me know if you know).

I'm liking the game right now, minus the lag on WASD movement, but the mouse movement is ok. There is one question though. I have seen people around with complete english letters as their names, and i'm wondering how are people able to get their names like that?

I swear it was mentioned in this very thread, but I can't seem to find it. I'd suggest skimming through it again (probably within the first couple of pages) unless someone else wants to quickly restate it in a reply.

I'm kind of hoping to get my review copy of the game tomorrow, so maybe I can get some more stuff up here (video, screens, whatever). I, unfortunately, missed an e-mail from Atlus a while back that kind of pushed all of the dates back... but luckily they're still willing to help me out. I guess like 3 days ahead of launch is better than none lol.

Also, Japanese magazine scans have the name as Aigis behind the artwork as well.

Yeah, it's weird because filenames and such on the Japanese site say "Aegis". It really doesn't matter, either way, but Aegis more directly implied what the name was based on... something I felt was rather fitting.

Makes you wonder even more why they chose the main cover they did. The inner one is far superior.

By the phrasing they kind of give the impression that this is the actual cover of the DVD case while the cover we've all seen is more for an outer casing. Am I reading that wrong?

I'm still wondering why they bothered to apparently rename Aegis to Aigis?
