According to a news story on GPara, Square will be porting Final Fantasy V and VI to the GBA. It also mentions Final Fantasy III for the DS, and that it'll be a polygonal remake. Honestly, I'd much rather see FFIII on the GBA rather than the DS. I'm glad they'll be porting FFV to the GBA, at least (V and IIIj were my favorites). If no one's heard, earlier, they announced bringing FFIV to the GBA, as well.

....didnt they remake FF6?

For the PS if I remember right.

...I'm just bothered by the idea of why they are putting it on the GBA.Or I guess it could be more portable for everyone... ...whatever.

Nah, they just ported FF6 to the PSOne, and added some... uninspiring FMV.

Anyway, screenies of FF3DS.

If you don't like the idea... Then don't play them?

edit: Also, apparently, they'll have some new content not found in the SNES or PSX versions.

Playstation got simple ports of the titles, largely. VI was entirely the same as it was on the SNES, aside from an opening movie and some extra content that was completely separate from the game. Same for V, although it was translated since it never came out here before.

The only major changes were for FFIV because the US version was edited and had scenes removed. The Playstation version has all of that intact and has a new translation (although they kept in "spoony bard").

So, no, they were never really "remade". The implication of Gpara on these two titles as well as word on the GBA version of FFIV makes it seem as though the titles will have a good amount of extra content and such... kind of like FF1&2 on GBA, which were based upon the Wonderswan Color (and later, Playstation) remakes but had a whole bunch of other stuff added on to them (like that massive extra dungeon world thing).

Looking forward to III and IV, at least. I don't care about V and VI so much, myself.

I'm torn by this news. Previously, I was pretty set on getting a PSP. I've never played FF3, though, and I'd really like to, so this means I'll have to think about getting a DS. Bah!
