Yeah but yeah, every scanner I have would not be blurred, it would just scan the folded page the way it is, unless there is some odd kind of material the pages are made out of... even if you put like an apple on the scanner it should look fine/mostly in focus. Just unfortunate the way it blurs so. I could probably doctor it after making the image much smaller. If you're ever in a kinkos or somewhere you could try a different scanner.

I'm not trying to be a pain in the ass, it's just a cool (really iconic) illustration that would be nice to have in focus smokin

PS: Speaking of guides, I have two of the best guidebooks ever for Shin Megami Tensei and Kyuuyaku, both in the same fashion. I'm not really sure what to call them, but they're so nice I'd collect everyone of these ever made for a Megaten game. I've no doubt these are the finest ever produced. I should know because I have like 3 for SMT2 that are all such crap combined they don't amount to a fraction of the value of these guides.

All I can say is they're part of a series. They have colourful dust jackets that appear identical to the game boxarts, but the paperback binding is skyblue with white print on it. I'm pretty sure they're part of an official Super Famicom series that might've carried over from/to other consoles (maybe just Nintendo)

^Yeah... I guess that's as good as it gets. The blur to the side does seem a little strange... I'm kind of wondering why it's there. Every scanner I've ever had would not blur something like that. Even if I snapped a photo with a digital camera confused

I think it's as important as anything to get a nice version of this graphic out on the internet biggrin

Would look nice on the website, somehow somewhere...

Well Jessicat put a lot of work into the graphics layout, so I'll leave it to her to finalize everything.

After a while I will probably cut the post in half so it takes up less space in the archives...
111  Be Your True Mind / Find Your Voice / Re: NEWS: SMT: Strange Journey will be devolped for Nintendo DS on: July 23, 2009, 11:07:13 PM
Almost there... the graphics seems to be missing from Emilio's post (really Jessicat's post should be deleted once everything is moved over)

And do we have a Spanish title in all of this somewhere or what?

Btw: I know it seems unnecessary, but please make a habit of sticking <p></p> around your paragraphs, and <br /> after lines like:

Director: Eiji Ishida
Scenario: Shogo Isogai
Composer: Shoji Meguro

I get tired of adding those in, and let's just say it's part of the editors job, but the author should do it themselves if they know better.

That looks interesting? What is it from? If you have that book can you scan the one with the Jacks in "Devil Busting" gear really nice for me?
113  MEGAMI TENSEI™ Uncensored / Megaten Hell / Re: Demonic Illustrations & Resources [Latest: TCG Scans] on: July 23, 2009, 07:53:32 PM
The stuff on the side is just RSS feeds of the comments and blogs in the Megaten Fandom list (not much yet)

^The reason they're not as easy to see (though I would think hard to not notice) is they're not officially part of the layout. They're that way so they blend into the background. If you hover over them they should be easy to read. Basically it's bonus stuff for people with wider displays. Officially the site is supposed to be fully viewable on an 800x600 display. Anyway, design wise I don't want them to distract too much from the site. They're making a bit of a problem though, a long with a lot of stuff in the sidebar, because google uses all those words to index pages so searches can lead you to a page that only has a word in the side info which is pretty lame... I'm working on it.

As for the Bael page, that is just from the wiki pages. Whatever is in the wikia wiki is there. A lot of the devils and bosses do have skills listed in the wiki, but Bael is a little more neglected I guess. Just a page I was fixing up a little at the time.

There is stuff from the Baal boss in Nocturne on the wiki/Baal page, but it's supposed to be migrated to a new Baal (Nocturne boss) page. Satan's page has more crap like skills (http://www.digitaldevildb.com/wiki/Satan)

Yeah, I appreciate making the thumbnails.

Emilo's post will have Spanish and English in it. You might've thought it was Spanish because the Spanish comes first. We put all the different languages in the same post for news. For pages the different languages go in different posts.

I will publish it before Emilio has a chance to translate the new stuff you've added. I just gave him the heads up so he do that when he can.

In the meantime please try to study Emilio's post some more and see if you can't edit his English translation from within his own post ok!

PS: You'll get the hang of it fast I think. And you don't seem like the sort of waster flake that just shows up and disappears, so thanks! redface

I guess I was kind of thinking "pokedex" instead of "demonary" then :p Something that shows the demon, what game's it's appeared in and what it looked like, attacks it learns and if it evolves, and those compendium info blurbs too :p [yup, total pokedex XD but it would be very informative! ^^;;]

You know, we have something like that going on (http://www.digitaldevildb.com/wiki/Bael)

The wiki pages are starting to look really really nice, and Google seems to be indexing them at a good rate (I guess I should be writing something on the wikia partnership page)
116  Be Your True Mind / Find Your Voice / Re: NEWS: SMT: Strange Journey will be devolped for Nintendo DS on: July 23, 2009, 02:17:29 PM
I noticed you made smaller versions of the scans for the post layout. I took out the alt attributes (they were all set to "null") and added lightbox functionality by adding the rel="lightbox-..." attribute.

I apologize if it seems like we're taking too long to get this on the front page, but I'd rather we get things right first. This is more like a time-capsule site than a breaking news sort of gig.

Anyway, Jessicat, you're an editor, and this is Emilio's post, so instead of authoring your own post, you should find Emilio's and edit his. You should find it in the "Pending Review" area. You will need to move the stuff from the post you made into his. Also keep in mind his post is probably divided up into English and Spanish via special tags that look like [lang_en].

If you can really help us by taking over the management of posts (leaving me free to focus on technology type stuff) some best practices are to make sure paragraphs are wrapped in <p> tags, and when breaking up multilingual articles, put like all the stuff before the graphic or whatever above it in all the different languages. Then put the graphic, then move on to the next section(s).

Once you've worked this out, let me know.

PS: We're not using tags. We have categories. I have a plan for the tag feature, but we don't need to use them in posts. I wish I could keep contributors from making them, but I haven't been able to  (without some hacking at least)

@EMILIO: Jessicat seems to have added some stuff, so you might need to let us know what we should add to the Spanish translation to make it match up.

PS: If you all would rather I just jump in and get this article up asap, let me know.

Right now only I can publish stuff (make things appear on the website)  smokin
118  Be Your True Mind / Find Your Voice / Re: NEWS: SMT: Strange Journey will be devolped for Nintendo DS on: July 22, 2009, 01:00:02 PM
Emilio, I gotta say! I know we suck, but there are probably a lot of graphics in the blog on this site that hotlink to your graphics in your nijiko blog. If you ever expect those graphics to disappear you gotta let us know in advance (PS: Please let us know if you're keeping backups or not)

I'm trying to work on a proper system, but it just keeps being pushed back in terms of priority I'm afraid sweatdrop

You can't blame me, no one else is offering to help, and I just do the best I can... I'm certainly no Tony, but at least I won't desert the site like Tony wink
119  Be Your True Mind / Find Your Voice / Re: NEWS: SMT: Strange Journey will be devolped for Nintendo DS on: July 22, 2009, 12:50:21 PM
Drat, on phone, can't see pictures XD I'll try to get  Emilios article proofread as soon as I get home though ^^;

You've been our best editor yet. Have you registered with the WordPress website? Might as well have an Editor account... and if you can produce technically correct posts, I'll even give you publishing privileges (or if not maybe just the ability to edit posts after they're published)

PS: For the only Asian guy in the crew, he doesn't look very Asian...
120  Be Your True Mind / Find Your Voice / Re: NEWS: SMT: Strange Journey will be devolped for Nintendo DS on: July 22, 2009, 12:41:47 PM
I'm not sure how to add these images to a news post other than the logo. I guess at the least I can use the "read more inside" click feature and load the images up on single article page. Not a bandwidth prob as much as that long list of big graphics would really gum up the front page.
