76  MEGAMI TENSEI™ Uncensored / Summoners' Club / Re: Devil Summoner:Raidou Kuzunoha vs. Abaddon on: October 22, 2008, 06:50:08 PM
The other games anyone?

Victor is in all three games afaik, he's just youngish in Raidou as opposed to middle aged vampire in DS and caped Beach Boy in Soul Hackers.

Here's item refine in DS, fairly similar to fusion if memory serves.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1UZgRpQ8km8  It's about a minute in.

In Soul Hackers the Goumaden is on a cruise ship.

Like I've said a couple times I'll eventually install a plugin so I can give contributors upload rights. I just haven't gotten around to that yet. I'm beginning to people don't really read my posts.

I read them, just offering up solutions to work with in the meantime.  smug

If a page existed for Persona 2 Batsu I am unable to find it in the Tony directory.

http://www.digitaldevildb.com/games/
Also the MIP link on this page appears to be broken.

Went ahead and prepped the DDS2, DSKRvs.SA, Jack Bros., Persona 3 and Megami Tensei pages for migration.

Hah!
Visual Kei has been around for a longgg time, started during the late 80s.

I mean, you still see it with J-Rock bands...look at the J-rock band Dir en grey. These guys have been around for a long time, and are still going, also have an album coming out later on.
But yeah,it's obvious why I like Eikichi so much....he supports Visual Kei!  hearton

It was really popular back in the 90s though.  sweatdrop  Rock stars have always been getting dressed up as gals though, 'tis a tradition as old as time.  wink

So.... if anyone thinks this should still be a news item then please chime in. Better yet prepare a statement / graphic for us (this thread would be fine, we'll make a news thread if/when we have an official news item)

Yeah, it deserves a blurb and a link at least.  I'll get on that.  goodnight

We could probably use a photo bucket dump acct for news items.  If anything it looks slightly more professional than leeching other sites' content.  silent

Was DDSaga Avatar Tuner called "Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga" in the states? Not even with the Avatar Tuner subtitle?

Unfortunately yes, though they left the kana on the logo for some reason.  I'm not sure they even used "Avatar Tuner," at all in the NA localization.

The dubjob always seems to illicit positive reactions among NA gamers too for some reason, despite being some of the worst hack-jobs I've ever witnessed.  In the opening movie Gale has a line of untranslated dialog, as well as periodically, throughout both games, certain lines will be said by the wrong character.  Not to mention they gave Cielo some horrible faux-Caribbean accent...  That's just my cursory evaluation too, I can't bring myself to watch the rest on youtube.

Yeah I've pointed that out before, but don't expect me to personally start messing with the content of articles... I'm all for it though over time. I'm currently giving credit to Tony for his articles, but if you see a factual error or anything simple go ahead and edit it. We can always give editing credits to his articles I suppose.

So far all I've cut are broken links.  I don't really feel comfortable chopping up Tony's work either so I think it's probably best to leave it as is until we can get up something better.  Sucks we don't have more people volunteering but I've got something in mind that might help us fix that.  So basically I'll migrate most of what he has up now as far as the games section is concerned, probably that Lucifer vs. Satan article and whatever else seems generally pertinent.  I'll make a list of what I think should be reworked and what's missing and go from there.

Alternatively you could look into nTune and try underclocking your card. I'd try that first if you can figure it out. I've hard to underclock many of my cards to play some games that use the hardware too aggressively.

It worries me though that my OS and browser are using my graphics card too aggressively though.  frown

I went ahead and migrated the page for Digital Devil Saga.  I'm still not entirely sure on how to make posts private.  It doesn't appear to an option in the manager.

I can edit the very last portion of the permalink but the "archives/uncategorized/2008/10/" portion coming just after the main site URL confused me.  I've got a few things to take care of this afternoon but I'll probably migrate some other pages sometime later... if you don't mind holding my hand through this just a little longer.  sweatdrop

The thought occurs to me that sometime in the future we may want to rewrite some of these game articles.  While generally informative most of them seem to contain more than a few statements of just sheer speculation or just plainly Tony's own personal opinion.  Personally I'd like to see more objectivity in our articles.  Aside from that I think we might want to include a slimbox for box art, maybe a few screen shots.

P.S.  Firefox 3 causes all kinds of crashes on my laptop for some reason.  Is there a way to set it to appear more like "classic" Firefox?  All the transparencies and graphic intensive elements to it echo the problems I have running Vista in Aero mode.

It's kind of hard to pick out what's what in a jumble of html.  rolleyes  WTF else am I supposed to think when you say "copy all the html" of the "body?"  Not exactly implicit nomenclature.

It looks okay in the preview so I guess it's up to you now to change the permalink. goodnight

Maybe I could find the japanese version ISO for you (if you want me too). Only if you have the original game of course. smug It could take some time but I think I could do it.

Thanks for the offer but I already have the ISO, I owned the game at one point so for all intents and purposes I think I'm entitled to play it again.  wink  In any case I can envision several boners on my part which may have contributed to the failure of the burn: 1) my crappy old CD burner somehow works after almost eight years of continued abuse, so there could be a problem with that, &/OR 2) the cds I'm using are crap but they work for pretty much everything else.  For instance the re-done SMTs seem to work fine, so do games that are more complicated graphically though. &/OR 3) There's some sort of additional protection on Persona beyond region encoding.  In any or all cases I'm screwed since I apparently lack the skills to figure it out.  I'd play it on emulator but for some reason it just looks terrible.  sick

P.S.  A burned copy of Soul Hackers has a similar freeze after your first flashback.

Btw, it is way off topic. But I think another major driver for the website might be trying to get a team together that could work on converting text files into hypertext guides -- published here exclusively. The whole premise of Gamefaqs drives me nuts anymore. It's the 21st century... Gamefaqs shouldn't even permit text "faqs" anymore much less seem to encourage them by apparently not making it easy (or even possible?) to publish hypertext.

I've always found Shuukan Fool-est to be like the most insanely helpful video game guide website I've ever used.  It makes so much sense to just list things.  Walkthroughs seem pretty superfluous these days anyway.

Generally they're asked by all means until someone gets sick of answering them and draws up a FAQ document so they don't have to deal with questions anymore.

For the games themselves though I'd say they're unnecessary.  Frequently Asked Questions are definitely something I'm going to write up once I work out how to migrate pages for example.

Not to divert the thread or anything but I can't play the Sebec quest in the original Persona.  For some reason it hard freezes on the world map after leaving the High School to go to the police station.  I can play the Snow Queen story fine since it doesn't require me to leave the school.  I've read somewhere that Persona is prone to bugs anyway so sorry I'm just whining. :(

Tsumi is a fun game though!  rainbow  It's super 90s.  Is visual kei still popular in Japan?  It's weird thinking that it really is dated now...
88  Post Apocalyptic Hellscape / The Underground / Re: Page Avatar Preview on: October 20, 2008, 04:46:12 AM
The trouble with that idea though is who exactly is frequently asking these questions?  I rarely find documents such as those helpful in any case.  I guess I did mean FAQ in the gameFAQs sense but we don't have to call them that.

Now if I only I could get Sebec story to work on a burned copy of Persona 1...  crying
