FYI: The Database Needs Contributors…
If you thought we have a writing staff, think again!!

Ever since the website was resurrected (after a nearly fatal fumble left it without a soul to tend to it’s needs) there has been a gulf where it was hoped wayward writers would find their way. We have waited and baited to no avail. So in one last ditch effort we’d like to make it plainly clear, we have no writing staff (in case anyone had presumed there was one.) In fact the website is user generated. Anyone and everyone are welcome, and encouraged, to make a scene in our forums, and we’re pledged to scramble to see that your contributions find a way onto the website. And anyway, this is how the website works now in case someone didn’t get the notice!

Oh, and on a not-unrelated note. The website will need to raise at least 100$ per year by way of the ads (per click) or there is no guarantee it will survive from year to year. So far we have almost 60$ in our coffers, but the current trend is not projecting in our favor. Observing our advertisements is a very easy way to support the site that anyone can do. Please consider doing so. Many people have worked hard to make this website possible, and now so can you! There are no more barriers (or excuses) just possibilities.

We have to find an English editor fast or else!!
Translators also welcome…

Without an English editor we can no longer continue to add timely content to the website or news blog in English. We always love to see new contributors, but we must find someone able to read and write English with enough ability to produce a passing paper for a college level course. An editor does not need to write new content for the database, but is needed to correct new content of varying quality prior to publishing. We need righteous people to help us get the job done! Please consider lending your talents to our effort…

On a less dreadful note, we’re nearing completion of our translation facilities. And would very much like to welcome anyone who can read and write two languages, and preferably one with native fluency, to help us translate our website’s interface and many articles. Please don’t hesitate to offer your support. This is a collaborative effort, so it is great to have as many people as possible working together to provide support for a new language. It is ok for the website to be partially translated. Our aim is to provide readers with the best information without inconvenience. Just pledge to help and we will add support for your favorite language and make you its first translator!

Our policy is to compensate our contributors, past and present, for all time. Contributors receive an agreed upon portion of our advertising revenue, renegotiated each quarter.
438  Be Your True Mind / Find Your Voice / WTF?! Sorry! on: March 02, 2009, 08:04:09 PM
I just noticed that most of the links were bad on the website when browsing the English pages. I have no idea how long things have been that way!? Or even why they're that way. It might not have effected Firefox for one reason or another. But I setup a temporary fix which seems to do the job for now... until I can figure out what is really going on.

Anyway, if you ever notice something like this in the future please please please whoever you are, let us know!

Again the website could've been broken this way for weeks or months for all I know. I'm not sure how I hadn't noticed it until now frankly confused

Will this PSP not play import games? I always thought the Gameboy would, so I figured PSP will. I would have to know that before buying one. Personally I've never liked portables. I bought a "Wonder Swan", but that one sunk. I thought it was my ideal of what a portable should be though. Mostly I just really don't like the small screens. So I wait and emulate the portable titles on my PC and play with a DualShock controller (the way games are meant to be played tongue)

I think you're owed a lot of unassigned karma atm. Could you try to make a list of all the stuff you've done lately, so I can try to divvy it up for you.

Plus it's good to have all your activity credited hearton

If only everyone was so loyal as you and I smug

I'm really beginning to get the impression the lack of support is really a show of contempt for the website now... as much as it disturbs me to admit it. I'm feeling pretty demoralized about it. I want to work on the Media Library, and finish the translation facilities... but without an English editor on board, I don't see how the site can continue to grow. And let's face it, people just aren't showing their support for the site.

Plus I gotta get in touch with Jose if not Tony, to figure out who actually has the right to host site. Primarily that is just a question of who "owns" the domain name. Though I would contend the community does (but for now there virtually is no active community obviously) ...mostly I'm really unsure what everyone would want, but my impression is no one actually cares. Getting in touch with Jose much less Tony is damn near impossible sweatdrop
442  MEGAMI TENSEI™ Uncensored / Velvet Room / Re: Remake of Persona 1 for PSP on: March 02, 2009, 04:30:14 AM
Funny, I guess DevilRy has officially stolen my copy of MIP (imported - along with some PS2 memory cards I left in Portland) ...and my old Revelations game was half stolen buy some Megaten Haven forum goer in Belgium I think. Since it wasn't an ebay trade or anything I offered to split the risk with him, and he flagrantly did not honor the second half of the deal. So the fate of both of my Persona game sets was to end up in the hands of apparently morally depraved individuals frown

This one looks pretty slick, new additions aside. Though I worry that at least some of the accommodation of the wide screen appears to be accomplished by cropping off the top and bottoms of the game screens. Also hope you can disable the giant heads at the bottom of the battlescreen, because that just looks like it would get old. Ah the rub though is it is PSP! I didn't think I'd ever want a PSP. I don't think this title alone would convince me to buy one... but it's a chink in my armor. I wonder about how the PSP might integrate with the PS3 though. I've usually never liked portables, but lately I've had a craving to be able to just lay in bed and play something without all the accoutrements.

I'm guessing there will be an easy mode to replace the old Revelations hacks. One thing that could sell me on the game, is if the easy mode has been rebalanced so that it is humanly possible to obtain the high level Personae (without logging a literal million hours or whatever)

I really don't like the added content I've seen, other than the interface slicking up. The game was perfect for what it was, and I'm afraid the movies will just seem superfluous and ruin the vibe altogether when present. Surely options to play in "classic mode" would not be denied. More of a remake might've been interesting, but it mostly looks like the content is almost shamelessly unaltered.

Anyway, as soon as someone has a copy of this game, I'd really like to know all the differences for myself wink

^I hacked something temporary together to put an easter egg in the PSP graphic 5innocent2

I know the article is still just in Spanish... but I don't really care for now. The news is there. I might mess with the translation system some so that it won't matter what language an article is first published in. I will still need an English title, but frankly whoever wants to add stuff to the website... we can do it in their favorite language for all I care rainbow

I saw this vid on your blog (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zbsztIwrUNs)

Your website seems so much more colourful and informative than this one. ninja

Sometimes I don't know why you even bother with this website.

It seems dumb to me the way the new movies/music try to make MIP seem like a newer Persona game. But the rest of the game appears untouched. I hope the old movies are still in the game!!! The new movies really don't suit the tone at all doh

Does "Nuevo en 3 de Febrero" make sense??
447  Be Your True Mind / Find Your Voice / Re: NEWS: Shin Megami Tensei: Persona (PSP) Will Reach North America This Year on: February 26, 2009, 09:18:09 PM
Here is a full-width PSP. I wonder though how the whole aspect ratio thing will be handled by the port?!

PS: I'll publish whichever one of these graphics you want.

Or better yet, wonder if we can find an image of a PSP then put one of those screens on it tongue
