I'm also interested in PSU, but it's just hard to get too excited when I have to pay a monthly fee. If I got it for anything, I'd get it for 360... Luckily you don't need to pay for Live to be able to play games like PSU or FFXI, but when you factor that in on top of $50 a year for Live Gold, it's kind of painful.

I was planning on getting a Wii, but I have a feeling I'll be holding off on that for at least a few months. Which means I'll either rent Zelda on GC or just have to wait.

umm...the site is up from the 6th of october guys...

http://www.atlus.com/devilsummoner/index.html

Yeah, I just noticed that myself actually lol. I expected it to appear on the bottom news reel and totally forgot about that one on the left. I didn't even look there recently. It's funny that even on there it just says "October".

Anyway, I don't even have it pre-ordered yet... Hopefully Gamestop will have some in and I can just trade in some games. I definitely cannot afford it right now.

Amazon is offering $30 off your first purchase if you sign up for an Amazon Visa card. No APR for six months either. So I ordered it. Hope to see it by Wednesday.

Tony, I look forward to reading your game journal then! Though, I thought you had one already? *remembers reading impressions from you on FFXII demo and other games* Hmm, I could be mistaken...

That was on my personal site. I wanted this to actually be on D3 itself.

I'm also starting to wonder about this game. For one, they still haven't put up a site for it. Usually they put one up at least a few weeks ahead of time, if not more. - site's up

I've yet to see a single print ad for it. I could have missed it. However, Nocturne, DDS and DDS2 all had ads in magazines. ads are in Hardcore Gamer Magazine, etc.

There's been no sort of recent impressions, which kind of implies no one has review copies. Who knows about this, but it kind of adds to the fire.

I don't know. I feel like it might be delayed. Perhaps even slightly. Beyond gaming sites, the Atlus press section itself still does say October 10th.

We'll see, I guess.

Hey, my nick is Gemini, not Gimini! :P

Gemini sounds a lot better. :buh:

I hope the patch is going well. There's a lot of people who really cannot wait for it. Good luck.

I feel like any real entrance of note when you enter that main area will go the Brutes base... I could be wrong. The main important thing is where you exit to find Lupa.
366  MEGAMI TENSEI™ Uncensored / Nirvana / Re: took a break almost done but lost! on: September 16, 2006, 11:04:35 AM
Svadhisthana Waterways is probably what you're speaking of. I think it's the second to last major area.

In Svadhisthana you have to go into the Brutes base and exit it from the basement. Lupa should be standing there and talking to him will open up where you have to go.

Beyond that, I imagine a FAQ might help you, but hopefully this'll be enough to get you started.

Well, I mean, once the patch is done, the game could obviously be distributed in patched form (illeglly online, anyway)... but no matter what, it would never be a black Playstation capable disc. It would be burnt on a CD you could buy at the store.

It'll probably be on eBay right away. You never know what Atlus games are going to fetch a higher price, but I have to imagine that, early on at least, it won't be hard to find for a fair amount

It got good Japanese reviews. I hope it gets a fair shake here, but I've noticed a good deal of RPG reviews in major publications that imply to me that they're sometimes not played more than several hours maximum. You never know lol.

When I get it I plan on doing my own review for the site as well as a "Game Journal" (I've yet to come up with a better name), which I'd basically use for hands on impressions as I go through the title. I thought it might interest some, but for my purposes it would be a good way to keep notes for any expansion of the section on my site...

I was answering the one question, but you got it already lol.

I actually got it off of eBay. I can look up the seller for you because I know he does requests. He might be able to track down another copy fairly easily. I think I only spent around $20 on it, used. Which is fair since, you know, it's not exactly a rare title in that country. A lot of places mark up heavily on this stuff and it's hard to justify the costs. I'm willing to bet that if this patch does come out they'll be a LOT more common, but possibly even more expensive due to the potential demand.

It's semi-rare on there. Any good Megaten stuff is. I look about once every week or two and most of the time I find nothing of real value. In all this time, I've personally only seen Innocent Sin on there maybe twice.

Not quite as irritating as playing along with a translation FAQ in your lap. updown
371  MEGAMI TENSEI™ Uncensored / Velvet Room / Re: IS english patch! on: September 11, 2006, 12:54:02 PM
Basically, you'd need to copy the game to your computer, apply the patch to the image file it creates (generally known as an ISO, but also appears in Bin/Cue format and countless others) and then burn that file to a new disc.

So, you'd basically need a solution to play back-ups on your original system or be able to run the game in an emulator.

Hopefully it will continue at a nice pace. It's really remarkable that something hasn't been done about this already considering the level of interest in the title. I'm willing to wait another several months considering all I can really do with my copy is run around mindlessly haha.

Very cool. Thanks for the heads up.
373  Be Your True Mind / Digital Millennium / Re: Final Fantasy XIII on: September 09, 2006, 11:07:12 AM
Three, like said in the post above you.

Final Fantasy XIII (PS3)
Final Fantasy Versus XIII (I believe unannounced, but certainly PS3)
Final Fantasy Agito XIII (mobile phone title)

They were all announced at the same time.

I don't know, I thought DQVIII was a pretty excellent game. I think all of the SaGa games are just plain awful though... that's another story for another thread, I suppose lol.

Atlus does magazine ads up to the release of their titles, but beyond that not too much is spent on them. On their forums, Vyers (who works for Atlus) has mentioned that the recent SMT games have all done well for them... the company is definitely on the increase in general as far as fan exposure goes. I think they're to the point where they can meet their expectations for their, generally, niche titles without a HUGE marketing push.

I mean, really, I don't know that commercials were necessary for a company of their type. DQVIII was pushed pretty heavily and just four months later I was finding it for $20 new. It doesn't always help.
