406  Be Your True Mind / Digital Millennium / Re: Disgaea? on: June 05, 2006, 10:12:45 PM
I bought the original when it came out. I put quite a bit of time into it, but it's one of those games that I couldn't possibly invest enough into to really finish it. There's just far too much going on and I like to do every thing I can possibly manage to do in one playthrough lol.

I'm not usually into Strategy RPGs of that sort, but I did enjoy the game. The situation was fun and the translation was solid. I've never bothered with the other titles related to it (Pucelle, etc), but I figure I'll go back to Disagea again at some point.

Well, that's what I get for not really going anywhere for my news on such things haha. I remember the dog, but not so much the other two.

I came across these earlier. I'm surprised they keep introducing more and more new characters. Thanks for posting them.

Yeah, I got that impression after popping some text I found into a translator. I'm never up that late anymore, though.

I guess the site is also going to have some sort of game added to it on the first.
410  Be Your True Mind / Digital Millennium / Re: PSP WALLPAPERS on: May 19, 2006, 02:37:21 PM
I like the bottom two the most, personally. The second to last one is extremely strong for an image of its style. I don't usually care for that type of design, but it's usually because most examples similar to it just are not well thought out or well executed. Nice job on that one, in particular.

I actually had game wallpapers I made concerning Persona for that Zodiac handheld. I had one of those for emulation, but wound up getting rid of it. Now that they  don't even make them, I don't see a reason to bother putting up the wallpapers lol. It's probably time to move on to PSP and GP32x or whatever that new one is called.

480 X 272. I have some pretty cool ones made of Nocturne, Persona 2, and DDS.

Perhaps you can make a thread about related PSP wallpapers in the general megaten section when you get a chance? I'd like to see them.

Well, I actually found this place on my own >_>. It went from looking for DDS pics to modify into PSP wallpaper to stumbling onto this site.

But yeah...good stuff.

I was referring to Glactor haha. :buh:

What is the resolution on the PSP anyway? I was going to make some wallpapers fit to that, but it just never happened. Now is as good of a time as ever.

Thanks for joining the forums. I guess posting on 1up did a little something heh.

Persona was my first game related to the series as well. It's probably why I'm interested in Persona 3 to such a huge degree.

If 3 was any indication, I don't really see how the last few could really compare to 2. 2 was, by far, the best game in pretty much every last way. I also enjoyed the original, although I suppose it was a bit less impressive by comparison.

I bought 3 based on how much I enjoyed the first two and I enjoyed it for a while. I liked the style and the story wasn't bad. I enjoyed being able to play from multiple character angles. I also liked that whole trading goods system and wouldn't mind seeing it in other RPGs.

However, I just never felt used to the battle system, the "dungeons" that were nothing more than straight tunnels just bored me to tears and eventually I just felt like I lost any sense of fun playing it. It's not a bad game, but I guess it never really captured me.

Your English is just fine. :)

Thanks for getting back to me about this. These online translators are just not enough for me lol. I'm going to be expanding that section more today beyond what I already did to it yesterday. Hopefully Devil Summoner will follow suit today too, but it depends on time I guess.
416  MEGAMI TENSEI™ Uncensored / Velvet Room / Re: Persona 3 on: May 12, 2006, 09:09:22 AM
It's somewhat distressing that both of these games were present only in Japanese at the show. It's definitely expected for Persona 3, but I thought they'd at least have a small English demo of DS. In any case, I still see no reason why DS won't get here this year... even though it doesn't have a date attached to it yet.

I e-mailed a bunch of questions about both titles to the press section at Atlus. Hopefully I'll get a response soon. My experiences with them in the past have been pleasant.

Ha, I put up the Devil Summoner image on the site... but didn't see that one. I should have come to the boards sooner, because I didn't find out for sure until Gaming-Age had a post about it...

I sent off some questions for their press team on both games, so hopefully they'll get back to me.

I came across these names on a Japanese fan site that I stumbled across the other day (trying to find information on a voice actor). I e-mailed the owner about using the information (seems to know English rather well), but I've not heard anything back yet.

Is this actually on the character profile pages? I don't know Japanese, so basically I'm stuck using a program and two or three web-based translators to make any sense out of these things I wind up putting on the site lol.
419  MEGAMI TENSEI™ Uncensored / Tokyo 202X / Re: Is anyone played SMT2? on: May 03, 2006, 03:39:59 PM
I've played the game (and I'm sure a couple of others here have too), but I couldn't tell you this offhand.

I'd probably go here: http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/snes/game/581299.html

There's a FAQ for the title that follows the game pretty much exactly. If you just match up what you've done so far with it, you should be able to find some direction I would imagine... At least from what I can tell; I've not actually used this FAQ before, but it seems rather detailed.

It would be nice, although they mark all of these as "expected". I guess Famitsu is pretty much the best source you'll get on something like this, though.

Not much longer to wait for E3 :). Wish I was able to go this year.
