I wish I didn't sell my copies of Persona and Persona 2. I was running low on money and they went for a good amount. I'd be more helpful in that case.
I do, however, have art books with Persona/Persona 2 related work in them as well as the Persona World Guide Book. I can provide you with anything out of those that is of note.
However, I still owe another member here an image of Lamia (I believe), so it might be some time. I've been having scanner issues that I hope to have fixed very soon.

I think it was for a lot of reasons.
The gay character thing is overblown, but at the same time it's almost ridiculous how different the gaming industry is just mere years later.
There's also the whole Nazi angle. Maken X used this as well and, as some may realize, all Nazi references were removed from the non-Japanese version of the title. Essentially every single enemy in the game was emblazonzed with swastikas, Nazi uniforms and colors (red, white, black). It wouldn't be odd for this to be the biggest reason of all because, far far moreso than in Maken X, the Nazi idea was intrinsic to the story. In Maken X it was largely just kind of there.
Most of all I think it was just lack of interest. Persona 2: Eternal Punishment, despite later interest, was considered an under performer. Atlus doesn't release sales numbers, but anything you could possibly read on the subject gives the strong impression that it didn't even meet their sales expectations. I have to imagine Atlus's are semi-low, particularly back then, so this isn't a good indication that localizing another title is a good idea.
Particularly considering we were nearing the end of the PS1's lifespan in terms of new, quality titles being worthwhile to release at all. Who knows what year that game would have even been ready if they pursued it.
It's unfortunate, but what can you do.

Innocent Sin would have been best summarized by the Oracle of Maya and Yoridori.org. Unfortunately it seems to be have been down for a while. If you look for it at archive.org, however, you should be able to find the site on there easily. That has quite a bit about it since it's basically a translation of the title. Here's a couple of other sites: http://www.chthonian.net/persona/tsumi/http://www.geocities.com/Tokyo/3857/gamep2.htmlAs for the original Persona, the two tie into each other in some ways, but at the same time nothing major is going to happen to you by not knowing the references made in Persona 2. Persona stuff isn't quite as common, but this site is pretty good for it: http://www.velvet-room.net/It's been so long since I've played the original that I don't know that I could personally write up something that would really help you out. It's worth playing, though, so good luck on finding it. It's usually somewhat common on eBay.

Whee! Pre-ordering fills me with such joy. :D Are there going to be any special items released with a pre-order-like a soundtrack- does anyone know? -crosses fingers- I asked Atlus if they were doing any sort of "special edition" things with this game and was told basically "no". That might have changed since then. Of course, maybe they thought I was referring to some big boxed set or something. I was referring more to the included soundtrack with Nocturne or the pack-ins with the original DDS. I guess we shall see. I figure we'll hear about it very, very soon if they are doing something. It's supposed to come out this October, as was mentioned. It's not far off now.

DDS2, in my experience, is actually not hard to find at Gamestop. The one over here had it for $40 new.
Anyway, thanks for joining. It's nice to see some new members in the last week or so that aren't ViagraCheap2004 or PlayPokerOnline or FreeValium65. Sigh lol.

Post Apocalyptic Hellscape / The Underground / Random Main Site Information

Hello.
First of all, it might be obvious I'm not around much. I'm not a big forum guy to begin with, but I do read what's put up here... but I'm more referring to the main site. Free time was short, then the internet was down and now I'm going to be out of state for about a week.
So for those of you interested in what's going on with the main D3 site, that's basically my explanation. There's some good stuff going on behind the scenes, though. I'm working on more official art work scans, adding a section for fan art, the Demonary section is FINALLY laid out and progressing well, Traci is adding to the Lexicon and sending in all sorts of other information to help.
There's also the possiblity of a redesign coming up soon, which is obviously going to eat up my time as well. Nothing insane, but something a little less constricting so I can more quickly add new sections to the site.
I actually had a really nice e-mail from a guy offering to help on the website. I wanted to reply to him, but I've not really had the time to write something good back. Hopefully he's still interested!
I guess that's what a full time job will eventually do to you. Anyway, that's that. Thanks for visiting.

There's quite a bit I'm interested in, but how much of it I will actually buy I have no idea. Thank god for Gamefly, particularly with these damn $60 360 games.
I haven't really kept up when most of them come out, though. Of all the games currently in stores, the main one I want to get is Dead Rising on the 360. I'll probably just be renting it.
I'm also looking forward to Contact on the DS, which I think comes out next month.
Beyond that, there's a hell of a lot, but I'll think about them as they're released lol.

So the game is out in Japan. Sold about 116,000 copies or so in the first three days it was on sale. Not so bad, really. I think some have a kind of exaggerated idea of how well general Megaten related games sell in Japan anyway... certainly never on FF/DQ levels. Anyway, did anyone here get an import of it? I have one on the way thanks to a friend, although I know I won't be able to understand it. Still, I guess I can grab some movies and better understand some of the actual gameplay components. In any case, I've updated D3's preview of the title with help from some posts by nice people at neoGAF that have the game. You can read it here: http://www.digitaldevildb.com/games/persona3/

As of late my interest in this game has increased dramatically. Nothing new has happened, really, but I find myself really needing some sort of new SMT-style fix. With Persona 3 out there's not a lot of new news coming in related to Megaten, so the next best thing to do is anticipate upcoming games lol.
Apparently it's coming out on October 10th in the US. It's on Atlus's press site, although I don't know when they actually put that up there.

Yeah, it's been up there a while now. They announced a partnership with Cave to basically rebuild the game several months ago. I was posting on NeoGAF about it because it seemed almost no one else was aware of its progress. I was kind of surprised lol. The blog has been pretty interesting. Months ago there wasn't terribly much on it I could understand, but they've been adding more and more pictures to it that seem to be of importance. The last few updates seem to deal with the actual character modeling. You can get to the site more quickly at www.megatenonline.com

Yeah, the little things make an impression. Characters reacting to your new outfits or hairstyles might be a tiny thing, but I feel like it helps pull you into the world moreso than would otherwise be possible.
My only complaint, I guess, is that I wish the game didn't force you to reload a save when you die. I'd rather just be able to continue with some sort of penalty. Sure, save points are plenty, but I'm constantly just into what I'm doing... sometimes, albeit rarely, I wind up being unprepared for sudden things that happen. They call this is "relaxing non-linear adventure" on the title screen, but it's not relaxing to replay two hours of stuff lol.
