Be Your True Mind / Digital Millennium / Okada's Monster Kingdom

So, Kouji/Cozy Okada and his somewhat new company, Gaia Games, have announced their first (I believe it'd be their first) game, which will be for the PSP, titled "Monster Kingdom". Gaia Games, the studio of Shin Megami Tensei mastermind Kouji Okada, finally announced its first project in the newest issue of Weekly Famitsuu. Titled Monster Kingdom, the game is an original RPG for PlayStation Portable and will be published by Sony Computer Entertainment in Japan.
As a fantasy RPG, Monster Kingdom puts players in control of the Jewel Summoner Wyse. Jewel Summoners are capable of calling upon monsters that have been transformed into jewels. Wyse is travelling to find Shenah, who murdered his mother. Always on his side is a monster appropiately called Schatten (German for shadow). Other Jewel Summoners include the son of a former head of parliament named Grey and Lin who has long forseen Shenah's menace.
Gameplay-wise, Monster Kingdom places a heavy emphasis on the collection of monsters. More than 100 of those creatures will be ready to head into battle with you. Thanks to Wi-Fi support, players can trade their monsters and challenge fellow users online.
Monster Kingdom will be available in Japan sometime in winter 2005. So, what are your thoughts? Not really a game I'm looking forward to, as it doesn't seem like it'll be as "serious" as games like Shin Megami Tensei. I'm not quite sure if the gameplay will be like Shin Megami Tensei, or more like *cough* Pokémon... RPGFan's description kind of gives me the feeling it'll be more like the latter. Though, RPGFan isn't usually one to be trusted when it comes to accuracy... So, yeah. I'm hoping it'll be good -- and won't wind up being a Devil Children-esque game. Music: Random Ramones and Buzzcocks songs. Movies: Nothing new. I've been re-watching Dawn of the Dead (Original, of course) and Shimotsuma Monogatari a few times. Games: I should get to DDS. Though, I kind of have the urge to play FFVII or Vagrant Story. The latter which I have owned for a year or two but never even opened.

That's kind of funny since I think the first one is already terrible! That's me though lol. Agreed. I hated the damn game -- the characters (except Virgil and Ziggy) annoyed the hell out of me. And is it just me, or does Shion's face look like it's too young to be on that body?. It's a pity -- I liked the long FMVs and such, but I thought the characters were horrible. KOS=MOS felt like a robotic, videogame version of Rei from Evangelion (another character I can't stand.)

Second, Nintendo has been making handhelds for a lot longer than Sony has, so I trust them more when choosing handhelds. Eh. Nintendo may have more experience, but when it comes to games, they've really been lacking -- at least, I think so. Pretty much all of the games I've wanted to play have been on a Sony system, and the games I did want to play that were on a Nintendo console wound up... Sucking. I think the last game on a Nintendo console I actually enjoyed was Harvest Moon 64 for the Nintendo 64. And was in 1999. So, I choose Sony generally because they've had the best line-ups. Though, as I've mentioned, neither handhelds have many games at the moment, and the ones they do have are games I'm not really interested in. I think the only reason I'd be interested in DS is the new Harvest Moon and Shin Megami Tensei games that are supposedly going to be released. But, I'm definitely not going to buy a DS just for those games -- I bought a GameCube for 2 games that were to come out, and they were both disappointing. I also bought a GBASP, but games were impossible to see without the backlight on, which ate up a bit of battery power, that, and the damn things are so small -- I utlimately wound up just emulating GBA games, heh.

Hmm, a lot of girls seemed to fawn over him because of the LotR series(pretty boy? Er, elf?). D: I realy liked his role in PotC though and Troy(despite he was a wuss).
For KH, I got really tired and dizzy after playing about an hour of it. I have to agree with the camera angles but I heard they fixed that problem for KH2. (Still doesn't give me a reason to play it.) The story just didn't catch me at all.^^; I am really interested in the PotC part even though they look so out of...character. ...Woah. I didn't know Orlando Bloom was Legolas. I liked Legolas, just because he wasn't loud and obnoxious like a lot of the other characters were. Plus, bow and arrows are awesome. KH's camera got me sick -- I get motion sick extremely easy, so, I threw up around the first or so battle.

Movie: Going to see "Elephant" whenever it arrives. I just saw Serpent and the Rainbow a few days ago, though. It, uh. Yeah. I didn't like it too much.
Music: "I'm Only Sleeping" by the Vines -- a Beatles cover. One of the few decent covers I've heard of a beatles song -- and it happens to be my favorite Beatles song in general.
Game: Trying to get back into Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town. But it has the most obnoxious controls due to the limited amount of buttons on the GBA -- I always wind up throwing or eating an item... Gah. I guess that's why they implimented the whole "Save Anywhere" option... >_>;

I'm 666. This is in dog years.
If you look at dog in the mirror, what do you see?
If you look at 666 in the mirror, what do you see? That's the stupidest thing I've ever read.
