Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey, the next title of the Megaten franchise, is being developed for Nintendo's portable console. It seems that Megami Ibunroku Devil Survivor was a big hit for Atlus, so big that they decided to develop their next game for the same console (leaving us, the fans, with the idea of this being a next gen Megaten game). This time around Kazuma Kaneko will take the lead as the character designer. We can appreciate some of that awesome art and informatión from these scans: The official website will be available for the next Friday, so be ready to visit once it's open to the public. The game will be released on Octuber 8 for the Nintendo DS, being a RPG game with a first person point of view, using the lower screen as a personal map. You will have a good time playing with approximatelly 300 demons, as always, you will be able to contact them and fuse them. What? A little bit of background story? Ok, you're a soldier born in Japan. The game will be carrying a price tag of 6279 yens. Hopefully, Atlus will give the Stylus a function with this one. Stay tunned for more news.

Thanks for the revision Jessicat! *edit edit* that's it! It's an SMT game in space with dinosaurs! XD Okay, maybe not, but I think that could be cool if done right :p it's probably the ozone layer that's been depleted from all those old fridges leaking CFCs or something and now demons are invading XD

Well, a lot of people are taking about if this is a Megaten release. I really don't know what to think by now, a part of me believes it's a Megaten game but, with all that's been said about the Japanese blogger that supposedly retrieve the logo from the code, other part of me is starting to think this twice. There's no reference from Atlus about this being a Megaten game on that site though, but I don't know... Anyway, the translation of "Strange Journey" is: "Viaje Extraño".

My blog entry

Atlus has open a new site for the teaser of, what it seems to be the next Megaten game, Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey. Showing a picture of Earth with its South Pole imploding and showing messages like: "This is a soldier's hand. It's trustworthy.", "For us, it's 'hope'!", "Don't lose site of yourself!", "You came here from a rich country just to die?", "For the future of mankind, let's both hold our ground!", "South Pole". A Japanese blog was able to grab what it seems to be the logo of the game, from the page's source code before Atlus removed it. Atlus will reveal more about this game on July 24 and, supposedly, it will be released on October 8 for Japan. But most important, It will be a spinoff? a sequel? and for what console?

Yes it's really good and I do own that title for the Genesis, Bloodlines was really cool, it has some good tracks, the song of the second level was one of the best of the entire game and was even adapted to the "Circle of the Moon" game for the GBA. And about the "New Generation" thing, is that the Bloodlines was the uncut version of New Generation or it was the other way around well, something like that. The only thing I don't like that much about Bloodlines, is that you don't get to play with a Belmont, but other than that, it was a really cool game for the Genesis. An awesome cover if you ask me.
