I have to disagree with that. After they gain their emotions back, the voices were very well done, I felt. Sure, I don't know that it's up to like the quality of an excellent film, but it's certainly up there with some of the better game voice overs I've heard.

I thought they were all pretty much hideous and over-the-top ("that's the point"). I won't go through all of them, but I'll just throw out two examples: Cielo and Argilla. Cielo's accent is hideous -- I've heard better faux-accents in Resident Evil. Argilla always sounds like she just took a hit of weed or something, and her demon form sounds like a teenage boy.

What sucks is, I liked Cielo's voice before he had that accent (assuming he's the one that says "Leader" in the beginning).

To be fair, I didn't like the Japanese voices, either. I still think they could've done a better job casting voices.

Yea, I read at the official Atlus forum that they weren't able to list the VAs due to some protesters or something. x_x; But yea, the VAs in Eternal Punishment weren't listed...

Meh, it's not like anyone would really care to know the DDS voice actors. They kind of did a... Shitty job. To say the least.

Current Movie - Just saw "Jacob's Ladder", it's weird. I'm sure it would've affected me more if I hadn't read "An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge" before the movie, thus knowing what was really going on in the movie. It's kind of like Silent Hill -- I remember even reading a theory about Silent Hill 1's ending being that
the events in Silent Hill didn't really happen, but were dreamt by Harry while he lay dying in his car
-- which obviously was inspired by Jacob's Ladder. I like how everything's kind of unexpected. Too bad that, ultimately, if you already know what's going on, then you won't like it as much as you probably should...

Heh, I just signed up for it. Too bad I don't have any keys.

I hope DQ8 will be better than the previous Dragon Quest games -- I always found them a pain in the ass to get in to.

Maybe she phrased it wrong; that could be the case...she probably exagerated. I mean, in a video game? Though, that statement was amusing.

There is a character named "Rika" in Phantasy Star IV who is 1 year old.

So, from all I can figure out, it's either just randomly named or actually based upon the Wikipedia website. It's entirely possible considering how popular it is the world over.
Apparently, in the Japanese version, it was called "Kunitsukami" (国津神) [I think] -- So, I guess since it was changed there's a high probability that it was named after Wikipedia. Weird.
292  MEGAMI TENSEI™ Uncensored / Velvet Room / Re: Persona 2: EP's English Voices? on: September 27, 2005, 11:36:41 AM
I've never beaten Eternal Punishment (only Innocent Sin), so, I've not a clue whether the voices would be in the credits or not. I doubt it, though. If anything, they'd probably just list the agency or something. I've only been able to find who did the English voice for Ulala, on IMDB.
293  Be Your True Mind / Digital Millennium / Re: Current? on: September 26, 2005, 03:06:13 PM
Movie: Nothing. I had saw The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy and Sahara a week or so ago. Didn't like either very much. I plan on trying to see David Lynch's "Lost Highway" next, if I can.

Music: Baten Kaitos OST -- probably the only Motoi Sakuraba OST I can stomach. And  Faith No More's "Epic".

Game: Digital Devil Saga, and Okage: Shadow King. The latter is awesome -- you all should try it. Pretty underrated game. :\
294  MEGAMI TENSEI™ Uncensored / Velvet Room / Persona 2: EP's English Voices? on: September 25, 2005, 09:29:42 PM
I was wondering, does anyone know who did the [English] voices for the various Persona 2: Eternal Punishment characters? I can't really find anything. I'm, specifically, interested in finding out who did Tatsuya Sudou's voice -- I think his voice, arguably, was the best in the game.

I had just heard this clip from DDS, and thought it sounded a bit like Sudou (only less maniacal), so, that got me interested in wanting to know who did Sudou's voice.

I'm slowly but surely getting over my running-around-in-hyperactive-circles phase, and settling into counting down the days on the calender, and grinning like a moron while doing so.

October is a good month to release DDS2 in.  A very good month.  So good that it would not be feasible for Atlus to push the game back to a different month, thus spoiling the set up.  Therefore, they will *NOT* push the game back, and keep the shipping date to where it is.
Yessssssss.

By god, man. Get a hold of yourself!

This is more DDS1 related, but I've got to ask... I noticed while looking at the Mantra list that there's one called "Wikipedia". Is that in reference to the site, or is there something behind that name that I don't know?

Heh, didn't know you'd be able to re-new it -- I thought once those damn Search Site Directory-things get their hands on a domain you can't get it back. >_>;
297  MEGAMI TENSEI™ Uncensored / Summoners' Club / Re: DS:KR gameplay videos on: September 22, 2005, 11:35:17 AM
I like the music that plays in the first video? It's nice, not as cool as Battle for Survival from DDS2, though. I hope the music'll be better than the music in the previous Devil Summoner games (the first one had an awesome ending theme, at least).

edit: Hey, 100th post~.

It´s another sountrack, composed of 3 cds. It seems to be a limited edition or something. Look here: http://shindds.free.fr/megaten_ost1.html (thank you Rotkappchen)

Oh, I don't have that... Now I have to get it. >_>;

Well, actually, in the "Persona - Be Your True Mind OST & Arrange Album" there are 2 different versions, Poem of Everybody's Souls and Song of Everybody's Soul, and they both sound different from the one in the game. Just to clear things up...

I've never even heard of any tracks titled that - and I have the OST.
