I know, I'm not active here at all. I'm a terrible person.

Anyway, I've recently gotten into a manga called Death Note, which some of you have heard of and probably read some of it. The reason I bring it up is because its theme is perfect for Megaten fans.

For those of you who do not know anything about it, it is a manga to which an anime has just started running in Japan. It is about a college student named Light Yagami who acquires a notebook from a Shinigami (death god) named Ryuk. This notebook is called a Death Note, and basically, it lets its owner write down a name of a person (as many as he wants) and a cause of death and it will happen. The main other rule to this is that Light also has to know the victim's face.

Light decides to use his Death Note to rid the world of evildoers and create a utopia. His main opposition is a man known only as L. L befriends Light within the first few chapters, lets Light know that he's under suspicion, but doesn't tell Light his name. So, Light has a constant conflict of trying to find a way to kill L without being suspect.

It's pretty brilliant, and a recommended read to any Megaten fans who haven't read it already.

Sounds pretty neat. I like the concept.

If I see this at my bookstore I'll pick it up.

Deathnote manga/anime was awesome but the japanese movie was terrible....

CLOSE THE WORLD OPEN THE NEXT

Deaths vastness holds no peace.
I come at the end of the long road--neither human nor devil....
All bends to my will.

I've needed a good manga to read. It's been a while and I definitely like the concept so far. Thanks for pointing it out!

I don't believe it's supported to provide links to anime that you do not legally own, blah blah, etc. To be safe, it makes sense to reference youTube or something, if only to cover your own tush.

I loved the first half of the series, but lost interest after the second arc. Whoa, didn't like where they took that. I've seen some episodes of the anime here and there and it's pretty cool. Stays with the manga pretty well too.
