1  MEGAMI TENSEI™ Uncensored / Velvet Room / Re: Your Personal Persona on: December 15, 2007, 01:14:13 PM
Kaichi was in older titles, I'm not sure which specifically. He's in the Pandemonium art books, however.

Even assuming it exists elsewhere (not all of the demons in these games do), I've run into many, many problems where names are misspelled (even changed almost completely). There was actually one demon I was putting together for the Demonary where they completely named it the wrong thing, mixing it up with another mythology-based creature entirely. Somehow I found the real name and wrote every thing up. I suppose my point is just that sometimes what they give you isn't even close to right lol

So I don't know. Kaichi is such a common name that it's very difficult to search based upon it. I have some random books about that stuff, I'll have to see if he appears in them.
2  Post Apocalyptic Hellscape / The Underground / Server Move on: December 14, 2007, 12:03:01 AM
This forum (and hence the entire site) are undergoing some pretty major backend changes... including a server move. It is highly possible that the site might experience downtime or other issues during this, but it should remain brief enough to not be a major issue for anyone.

Thanks.
3  Be Your True Mind / The Turnstile / Re: Is ye old Megaten Haven offcially caput? on: December 13, 2007, 03:53:27 PM
Weird, I wonder what the deal was. I noted that a lot of people I remember meeting briefly at MH never actually appeared here, so it's not like this dinky forum is stealing much of the userbase.

It always seemed like the Atlus forums (particularly since the revamp) and GameFAQs kind of took this series over enough that boards like this one can't really compete well. Not that I'm complaining, really... I am not exactly a fan of managing forums lol.
4  MEGAMI TENSEI™ Uncensored / IMAGINE Online / Re: STICKY: Playdates and trading in here! on: December 11, 2007, 04:40:34 PM
Well, I don't really know too much about the situation, nor have I ever personally visited the Globe Wiki. I mean, if someone tells me it's password protected I'm not going to assume just anyone could walk up and ask for the password lol.

Regardless of who it was or wasn't, having another one probably wouldn't hurt much.
5  MEGAMI TENSEI™ Uncensored / Velvet Room / Re: Persona Anime Fansub Group on: December 11, 2007, 11:21:43 AM
Well, I guess the thing to do now is to figure out who of the interested parties will be in what position.
6  MEGAMI TENSEI™ Uncensored / Velvet Room / Re: Persona Anime Fansub Group on: December 10, 2007, 03:04:27 PM
Yeah, I figured some group was on this already... I'm not surprised.

Here's a question Tony:  do you know how to use...say Adobe Premiere?

Yeah, although I use it infrequently.
7  MEGAMI TENSEI™ Uncensored / Velvet Room / Re: Persona Anime Fansub Group on: December 09, 2007, 09:02:02 PM
There's two groups scanning the single manga separately: GHS and Starry Heaven. There's a few other manga out there no one has done yet, though.

I think the anime thing is a cool idea and I'd love yell out "Let's do it!". However, I personally have no experience in fansubbing, nor do I know any of the Japanese language. So if QBasic wants to run with that (and anyone else can and wants to help him), that'd be cool by me. The main site would support that as much as it could.

Assuming GHS isn't interested (which is how it seems), I almost wonder if you'd be better off talking to any of the actual existing fansubbing groups and kind of "affiliating" with them in this sense. I have to imagine that at least one of them is considering doing this anime already since Persona is relatively popular.

The other plus is that most of them already have their own distribution networks. I'm not equipped to offer a torrent tracker or anything like that, nor do I really want to... Mostly because of all of the crackdowns on anime fansubs as of late.

So basically: go for it, if you can lol.

Hmm, I'd recommend trying VLC player, because your problem could be codecs, and with VLC player, you don't need to worry about them.

VLC player:
http://www.videolan.org/vlc/

He tried that earlier, it'll just come back garbled. Apparently when downloading the stream, the method I used doesn't strip any licenses. Atlus owns the video in this sense.

I put up a new version. Please let me know if this doesn't play for you, but I tested it elsewhere and it seemed to be good to set. The links are the same, the files were just replaced.
9  MEGAMI TENSEI™ Uncensored / Velvet Room / Re: Persona anime on: December 08, 2007, 07:48:10 PM
Yeah, I'm not sure what the issue is then. I've not had an issue playing it in anything. Perhaps you need to update Windows Media Player?

Edit - You're right, it must have to do with the fact that I recorded it. I'll see about fixing that.
10  MEGAMI TENSEI™ Uncensored / Nirvana / Re: Digital Devil Saga R4 Skin on: December 08, 2007, 10:12:34 AM
I do have a DS, but no R4... but in any event, nice job with these.

I actually have some Tapwave wallpapers I made based on DDS at one point. Except, you know, who the hell has a Tapwave? lol
11  MEGAMI TENSEI™ Uncensored / Velvet Room / Re: Persona anime on: December 08, 2007, 12:10:12 AM
I ripped it off the site directly myself as well, if anyone needs an additional download for it.  .WMV or .ZIP file.

They're adding stuff to this constantly. I missed it before when I went there earlier... I went to special, but Firefox seems to hate it because the site calls an ActiveX control to display some portions of that section.

Anyway, thanks for pointing this out :). I put up something on the front page about it. Looks like it might actually be halfway decent, at least in terms of animation quality. Admittedly some of the 3D CG aspects of it are slightly jarring in a that's-just-too-obvious kind of way, but it's easy to get over.

This is also pretty random, but I really like the Aniplex logo animation. I guess I don't watch enough anime (read "none") to be acquainted with it lol.

Mienai also sent me some information about the theme song for the series, which I posted about on the front page. Here's what I wrote:

Quote
Mienai also informed me that saikuraxsyaoran, a member of his Persona 3 LiveJournal community found some new information the theme song that will be used for the series. The song is entitled "Breakin' Through" and is written by Yoshiharu Shiina (a member of surface) and composed/produced by Takuya Asanuma (former member of JUDY & MARY). The song will be sung by a contest winner named Siyuuhei Kita. You can read more about this on surface's web site under news, assuming you know Japanese.

So, thanks to all three of you for the help! :)

I'm late on this, but again I take no credit for this.Five voice actors have been announced on the front page,http://www.persona-ts.net/ :

神郷 慎 (Shin Kanzato) - 岡本信彦 (Nobuhiko Okamoto)

神郷 諒 (Ryou Kanzato) - 子安武人 (Takehito Koyasu)

神郷 洵 (Jun Kanzato) - 神郷洵 (Miyuki Sawashiro)

茅野めぐみ (Megumi ???) - 阿澄佳奈 (Kana Asumi)

守本叶鳴 (???) - 中原麻衣 (Mai Nakahara)

Source and translation of names from Gekkoukan High lj community

Yeah, I got some help translating some of that the other day. It's on our front page, the last new names are:
  • Megumi Tino (Chino, maybe?) will be voiced by Kana Asumi, a female singer and seiyū who has appeared in anime such as Bokurano.
  • Kanou Marimoto will be voiced by Mai Nakahara, a female seiyū who has done work for both anime and games including .hack//Legend of the Twilight Bracelet.
And yeah, they really expanded the site in the last few days. I was surprised. I'll have to gather some of the info together, although it's seeming more and more worth having its own section entirely.
13  MEGAMI TENSEI™ Uncensored / Velvet Room / Re: Persona 3: The Night Before on: December 05, 2007, 09:50:46 AM
OK, cool, thanks to both of you for the information. Even if it's older, it's definitely worth posting about, I think. I know a lot of people aren't aware of it and they might find it fun to mess around with.
14  MEGAMI TENSEI™ Uncensored / Velvet Room / Re: Persona 3: The Night Before on: December 05, 2007, 02:07:03 AM
Cool, big thanks for this. I'd like to post a bit about this on the news page, if you wouldn't mind?

I know when P3 originally came out there was a game extremely similar to this on their site. In fact, I signed up for it. I'm unsure as to whether or not this is the same came or yet another one, though. Do you know for sure?
15  MEGAMI TENSEI™ Uncensored / Velvet Room / Re: Persona 3 Manga on: December 03, 2007, 12:48:16 PM
Well, I think it's working out fine. I'll be posting work from both teams and people can just go with what they prefer. I think that's kind of the last thing that has to be said about it lol. We might as well just continue using this thread to talk about the manga itself :)
