I love it when Personas take over negotiations with demons. I'm trying to compile a list of all the Persona-demon encounters that will result in a dialogue. The latest one I found is Michael (Ellen's ultimate Persona) vs AL: Dominion (the most annoying, if not necessarily the most powerful angel in the game). I've tested everything on this list; if anybody has had any successful tries with other combinations, please e-mail me. ^_^ Persona demon Azrael (lv 36) vs AL: Virtue (lv 44) Bucho (lv 74) vs WM: Bufflax (lv 63) [will not result in a spell card] JackFrost (lv 10) vs FY: JackFrost (lv 8) or Jack O' (lv 15) Jack O' (lv 20) vs FY: Jack O' (lv 15) or JackFrost (lv 8) Jester (lv 59) vs FA: Jester (lv 56) Loki (lv 51) vs WM: Fenril (lv 75) Michael (62) vs AL: Dominion (lv 52) Nike (lv 7) vs AL: Angel (lv 14) Pixie (lv 5) vs FY: Pixie (lv 2) Remy (lv 21) vs ND: Remy (lv 19) Shiva (lv 96) vs SD: Ganesha (lv 65) Succubus (lv 53) vs ND: Succubus (lv 51) Viper (lv 50) vs DN: Viper (lv 50) A couple more notes on getting Personas to talk to demons: 1) You must talk to the appropriate demon as soon as you encounter it - you can't fight a few rounds and then talk, or the Persona won't take over. This means you can't Persona Change in battle first, so be sure that the Persona you want to start talking is already active. 2) You must have at least one empty slot in your roster of spell cards for this trick to work. If you're carrying the maximum amount of spell cards, your Persona won't talk to the demon. Use the delete command to keep at least one slot open in your spell card list. The good news is, moon phase seems to have no effect on this trick. 3) If the trick works, the Persona will take over as soon as you select its host to contact the appropriate demon - if you just get your char's anime-style profile and his/her four contact options, the trick hasn't worked. The advantage is that you can try this trick out without actually risking the drawbacks of a failed negotiation (if it doesn't work, just cancel the negotiation and go back to fighting - whereas if you start an ordinary conversation with a demon, you have to keep talking until the negotiation has swung one way or another). 4) If a demon offers your Persona its spell card, you have a choice to accept or refuse. The demon and Persona will say something different depending on which choice you make. If your party is too weak (i.e. low-level) overall to accept the demon's spell card, the demons won't give you their card; instead, they'll comment on how pathetic you are. 5) When I did this with Loki vs Fenril, Fenril contacted me first, and gave my party a spell card even though I'm sure we were all below its level (we were in the low 70s, and it's level 75). But when I did it with Viper vs Viper, the Viper demon wouldn't give up its spell card until my party was of a high enough level (they just talked, commented on how weak we were, and ran away). So I'm guessing that on average, your party needs to be of a high enough level in order to get a spell card off the appropriate demons, even with this trick. 6) Generally speaking, the level of the Persona tends to correspond with the level of the demon it talks to: high-level Personas talk to high-level demons, while low-level Personas talk to low-level demons. 7) I've had suspicions about other Persona-demon combinations. Please do e-mail me (vctr113062@aol.com) if you have a successful Persona-demon conversation not on this list! In particular, I would love to know if Persona Alfred can talk to any demons... ^_^ Victar, DNRC Minister of Obsessive-Compulsive RPG Addiction Bard's Tale I-III * Might & Magic I - Swords of XEEN Dragon Wars * Swords & Serpents * Shining in the Darkness Arcana * Don't Go Alone * Drakkhen * Final Fantasy NES - Mystic Quest Beyond the Beyond * Persona * Wild Arms * Dragon Warrior I (http://members.aol.com/sglkht)
