I don't know what amazon.com you went to, but the one I go to has them for $60 and less.

http://amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_gw/103-7235594-8055037?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=digital+devil+saga&Go.x=0&Go.y=0&Go=Go

Also, DDS is ok. SMT3 is much better.

Digital Devil Saga, both of them, are mediocre. Shin Megami Tensei 3 isn't all that good, either. You're better off just playing Shin Megami Tensei 1 and 2. They're much better. And they don't have Hikawa, Dante, or Argilla.

If this is the case I'd better demand the return of DDS immediately from my friend so she doesn't keep it forever or sell it for a super profit O_o

It's definitely not the case. DDS isn't going for $250 anywhere.

I wouldn't be all that concerned with getting brand new copies of these games in the first place. In my experience, people with RPGs (especially obscure ones) tend to take care of them. You'd save a bunch of money, more than likely.

In addition, last I saw, DDS2 could still be found at random Gamestops for like $30.

Well do you have any GAME or Electronic Boutique's in your area?
They might have some pre-owned sections. Its where I got DD1 and Shin Megami Tensei 3 (Lucifer's Call, Nocturne).
Otherwise, just ask the GAME shops online, and see if they have any of the pre-owned SMT games in stock, and they can deliver it to ya, its easier than paying 250 bucks for them, lol.

To deliver the holy,
To destroy the sin of the sinner,
To establish righteousness.

My local Gamecrazy has DDS2 for 50$ new. I was lucky enough to find Nocturne for 25$ at a mom&pop store near where I live. It can get really expensive trying to get the SMT games off Ebay and Amazon. I've seen a Persona 2 copy for over 150$. Its really outrageous.

That's ridiculous. You can buy Persona 2: Eternal Punishment for like, $30 new online. At least, you could a year or two ago. People don't have a clue on how to price things. I see Suikoden games going for a ton of money just because Suikoden 2 is rare (and not even Suikoden 2 is worth more than $30 -- it's not a very good game). $100 for Suikoden 4. Jack asses.

Yippee Canadian Dollar :D

Sorry, just that makes me happy because I do a lot of cross border shopping. But more relevantly, video game pricing is very strange... because after months of searching for Okage I found it for... $10 at eb games, and okage isn't the greatest game but I'd still say it has a higher value than $10 and certainly more equivalent to Suikoden games (which should have a much less value).

I need it too, because yesterday I just bought Digital Devil Saga 2, but I dont want to play it, because I want to finish Nocturne first. And of course to complete the collection, I need Digital Devil Saga 1.

Personally, I recommend finishing Nocturne first. Especially if you're new to the series. Makes jumping into DDS' battle system a lot easier.
