Let's see there are a lot I like...
Definately the Breath of Fire series, only played 2,3 and 4.
Mainly whatever Square Enix throws out,I end up buying them,in which I may or may not like them, but I did enjoy Kingdom Hearts. The FF series...I didn't get all hyped into 12 like everyone else,it was alright though;looking forward to 13.

I love the Tales of series, and there are the NIS games:Disgaea,Phantom Brave, etc.

I guess the easiest thing to do is list them by system.

NES: Dragon Warrior III, Dragon Warrior IV
SNES: Earthbound, Robotrek
PlayStation: Persona 2, Suikoden, Suikoden II, Ogre Battle
PS2: Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter, Wizardry, Dark Cloud 2, Nightmare of Druaga, Dragon Quest VIII
GC: Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door
PC: Planescape: Torment, Fallout, World of Warcraft (although I rarely have an account, it is fun)

I know there's more, but those come to mind the quickest. I'm not a massive FF fan (I mostly like IV, although XII is good) and I cannot stand Kingdom Hearts. There's other games I like that I don't know that I'd consider "favorites", so I didn't bother with them.

NES: Final Fantasy III, Sweet Home
SNES: Actraiser, Final Fantasy V, Harvest Moon, Radical Dreamers, Shin Megami Tensei, Soul Blazer
Nintendo 64: Harvest Moon 64
PlayStation: Monster Rancher 2, Persona 2: Innocent Sin, Suikoden
PlayStation 2: Dark Cloud, Monster Rancher 3, Okage: Shadow King
Dreamcast: Skies of Arcadia
PC: Ys I-II Eternal
DS: Final Fantasy III

I, too, cannot stand those mediocre Kingdom Hearts games. But, then again, anything that has Tetsuya Nomura involved is bound to be awful.

YES. I can't believe I forgot to include this game. This is a game they need to port.

Since when is Actraiser an RPG? Furthermore, Harvest Moon?

Actraiser is an Action-RPG, at least, I consider it one. Harvest Moon could be considered a Simulation/RPG.

^Saga / Azel is the only rpg of the bunch. While I think they are rad in their own right, the other 4 titles, PD, PD Zwei, PD Mini, PD Orta, are all rail shooters.

I can't believe no one has ripped off the incredibly cool battle system. It would have made for quite an adaptible system to be used in some type of airship / sky pirate rpg -- think maybe a similar universe to Battle Garegga.

True, you are right about that.Saga/Azel is the only RPG.

Still they were quite memorable games.I can't believe no one has either,it was really a blast with how the battle system was done.

I always though of Actraiser as sim/action platformer. Harvest Moon I can sort of see, but I tend to call it just straight sim.

Anyway, not really favorites per se, but just what I consider the best in general;

Traditional jRPGs
Shin Megami Tensei 1
Shin Megami Tensei 3
Dragon Quest VI
Dragon Quest VIII
Final Fantasy VI
Final Fantasy XII
Chrono Trigger
Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter
Panzer Dragoon Saga
Earthbound
Wild ARMs(first one only)
Secret of Mana

Might be adding Romancing SaGa: Minstrel Song to this list.

SRPGs
Yggdra Union
Tactics Ogre
Final Fantasy Tactics
Front Mission

Western RPGs
Fallout

I've played other Western RPGs, but none of them come anywhere near Fallout.

Shadow of the Colossus, Vagrant Story. Other than SMT games, nothing has made a bigger or better impression on me yet. Mind you, I haven't played many new games lately. I will admit though, FFVI, Tactics and VII got me into RPG's. They hold their place.

I felt ill the entire time I played Romancing SaGa. I really cannot figure out what the appeal of it is... and this is from someone who generally likes similar games to it. I've not really liked any of the SaGa games, though.
