Than, just say so.  smile You should have said  November 15. th. and than release it earlier. You would make the people even more happy. Just take all the time you need and polish the thing. And ignore those trolls.

biggrin Then please tell me, what's with all that big announcements and constantly updating your blog? You are doing it for us, not yourself. After all, you can play the game without translating it (at least Tom can do it, I don't know about you). I think you are going to release the game on October 15.th. You just wanted the flaming to stop. Or maybe there are some technical things left to do?
18  MEGAMI TENSEI™ Uncensored / Velvet Room / Re: IS english patch! on: October 02, 2008, 01:55:30 AM
I think it's a little bit unprofessional to say: "I'm not going to release the game because some people are getting on my nerves." That means 95% of those normal people won't see the patch. And that's not because of those flaming idiots. It's because of Gemini not going to release the patch.
And where did I say that the patch won't be released? I can't recall anything even similar to that. Delayed≠canceled in my vocabulary.
You are right, you said delayed until you feel that you want to release it. My mistake. But what does that mean? Christmas? Next year? October 15.th? When?
Gemini, just put yourself in the position of the normal people who want to play the game in english. You are going to disappoint them. They probably won't say anything, because they don't want to piss you off. I know, we should be happy that someone went thru all the work and translated that game in english, I take my hat off to both of you for that. But you are not fair for disappointing all the people who expected the game on October 15.th.
19  MEGAMI TENSEI™ Uncensored / Velvet Room / Re: IS english patch! on: October 02, 2008, 12:46:39 AM
Hmmm... I don't see what flaming has to do with the release date. I would simply ignore those guys and release the patch. Maybe there are still some things to be done and Gemini is looking for an excuse, I don't know. If that's the case, he should simply say it. I've been reading his blog and there are some really weird people but you can find that kind of trolls everywhere (even much worse). But that's not the reason not to release the patch. To be honest I'm not so much fan of Persona (I played Eternal Punishment and it's a good game, but a little bit overrated in my opinion), but I was looking forward to see the patch anyway. I wanted to play it in english and I wanted to see the technical site of the translation, because what I saw on his blog looked really impressive. I think it's a little bit unprofessional to say: "I'm not going to release the game because some people are getting on my nerves." That means 95% of those normal people won't see the patch. And that's not because of those flaming idiots. It's because of Gemini not going to release the patch.
Well done.

That's the PSP remake of Chi No Rondo I was talking about.
21  Be Your True Mind / Digital Millennium / Re: Favorite game franchises outside of Megaten? on: September 25, 2008, 12:31:11 AM
You are right, my mistake, but I'm playing it on my PC normally, and I don't think it's somehow emulated. What's a PC engine anyway? The game is chronically a prequel to SOTN. You know the intro in the game where Richter kills Dracula? It's the last level in Chi No Rondo. They called the level Bloodlines in the American version of SOTN. I don't know why, it has nothing to do with the Sega Genesis game. They also remade the game for the PSP but I haven't played it. Both the SNES Dracula X and Chi No Rondo have been released after Super Castlevania.
To yksehtniycul: I don't know what you are expecting, but you could call Chi No Rondo the last classic Castlevania game.

I'm finishing Final Fantasy 8 these days (replaying actually, I finished it 6-7 years ago), and I must say it's a love/hate relationship. The technical side of that game is perfect. I think even the junction system is great, you don't have to draw for hours if you know which Triple Triad cards you have to mod. You can play thru the game with almost no encounters if you want to, because the enemies are almost always the same level as you are. Simply, the depth of the game system is amazing. However the characters are extremely irritating. The only sympathetic main characters are the silly ones (Laguna, Selphie and sometimes Zell). And what I totally dislike is how the characters and the world of Final Fantasy 8 look. That mix of The 5'th Element, Star Wars and Gianni Versace. It's tasteless like putting a leopard thong on Michelangelo's David. The game is at moments even repulsive, with no/very little atmosphere at all. I'm not saying the game is bad, it's better than maybe 70% of all other RPGs, I'm only saying it could have been much, much more. I can't even compare it with other Squaresoft games like Final Fantasy 7, Chrono Cross and Final Fantasy X. In my opinion, FF 7 was perfect and is my favorite game of all time, Chrono Cross came very close to it (even 90% of the people prefer CT over CC, I like CC much better). And about FF X, I think it's simply great. Great character build system, great atmosphere (the first totally "Asian" Final Fantasy), nice characters. That game even made me change my opinion about one of the characters. Wakka being a racist and religious fanatic turned into a nice guy. He was actually a nice guy all the time, but he had some serious problems in the beginning. The reason I never played FF X-2 is that a friend knowing my taste very well told me it was like playing with a Barbie doll.
I like the Final Fantasy series, I even like them more than Megaten (because I was never sorry for playing any of the FF games, but I was sorry for playing SMT 1).
To yksehtniycul: "Castlevenia: Vampire's Kiss" is the SNES version of "Akumajo Dracula - Chi No Rondo" (only released for home computers in Japan). Try to find the Japanese PC version of the game. I have it, it's much better than the SNES version (more (different) levels, two characters and it's easier). And when you reach the last boss in the SNES version, good luck until you find the pattern to beat him. Actually, good luck reaching him at all.
I like the first two Tenchu games, Silent Hill series (I think the first game is still the best), KOF series, Samurai Spirits series, DOA series, Megaten series, Vagrant Story, Castlevania series and those sweet RPGs from the SNES era.

24  MEGAMI TENSEI™ Uncensored / Tokyo 202X / Re: Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne on: September 03, 2008, 05:55:39 AM
Now, I remember one part of the game very well because it was probably the weirdest atmosphere in the videogame history ever. It's the part in (SPOILER) Mifunashiro where Chiaki and the Divines are slaying the Manikins (near the end of the game). (END SPOILER) I found that part of the game totally bizarre.

Interesting, I'll be sure to do this in my next playthrough. Thanks for the information~!

Is that actually feasible/possible at that point in the game?

It should be. I (unintentionally) shifted my alignment from neutral to chaos only by fusing demons. I don't know how it works, but I think I fused to many chaotic demons (making Hiroko's ultimate equipment). After a long time, my alignment shifted to chaotic. This was on my first playthrough, so I don't know if that also counts for the secret dungeon.
Technically you should be able to enter the dungeon much earlier in the game. Save your game right after you emerge in Shinjuku for the first time. Now finish the game on the second slot and leave the first one alone.
You should be able to enter the dungeon at that early point in the game.
Don't worry, according to that Japanese guide, the enemies will be much weaker. However, if you enter the dungeon again after rescuing the Amatsukami, you'll get stronger enemies. There is also an enemy change on the chaos path. If you enter the dungeon before you finish Keter castle, you'll get weaker enemies. Enter it again after finishing Keter, and you'll get stronger enemies.

P.S. The first part of the dungeon is accessible for all alignments.

Sounds pretty funky???

Can you encounter the Majin otherwise within the normal game?

What is the motif of the dungeon just out of curiosity?

I think you can. There should be spawning points for the Majin in some of the normal dungeons, but I don't know the exact locations. However, I only encountered Majin Matador in one specific room inside the secret dungeon. You'll always meet a Majin in that room when you enter it for the first time. When I returned to the room again, no Majin appeared.
The motif of the dungeon... Hmmmm... You know that part of the game where you meet Nadja? Some kind of a corridor, looks like in apartment buildings. And the screen is in some weird blue color.
30  MEGAMI TENSEI™ Uncensored / Tokyo 202X / Re: SMT 2 help on: April 29, 2008, 12:56:31 AM
The secret dungeon does exist!
You must finish the game to access it. However, you don't have to play twice (I think). I actually beat the game and started from the beginning, but I think it should work this way too. After all, you have nothing to lose.
First of all, play the game until you beat Kurzuryuu. After that save your game on both slots. Leave one of those slots alone (don't overwrite it). Now proceed to Eden. You can save your game, but always on the same slot, don't touch the other one. Beat the game and watch the end credits. The game will "memorize" it. Now start your game from the other slot (the one after beating Kuzuryuu). Teleport to the Shinjuku terminal. Go outside. Now check the world map. Go a little bit right and then down. There should be this mutant guy. When you talk to him he'll ask you if you want to be teleported to the secret dungeon.
Inside the dungeon you'll probably have to level up in order to raise your stats and proceed deeper into the dungeon. Otherwise, some doors won't open. Do I need to say how great this place is to lvl. up your character?! Btw. Susano-o drops the Hinokagutsuchi (once in a blue Moon). There's also a place where you fight Majin Matador. You won't be able to access some parts of the dungeon until you change your alignment.

Have fun! keke

P.S. This works for the SFC version of the game. I don't know how it works for the PS version. Probably the same way.
