31  MEGAMI TENSEI™ Uncensored / Velvet Room / Favourite/best Persona in P3 on: September 10, 2007, 10:14:39 PM
I liked Lucifer. It was a clever move to design him to look very much like the Lucifer (the old man/young boy) in Lucifer's Call. I liked the way he was designed pre-Fall and not like the final boss in LC (the dark blue post-Fall Lucifer, whom I believe makes an appearence in FES).

Satan's design was immense. The artwork looked better (a P3 trait unfortunately) but the scale of him when he was summoned was damn cool. I still find myself looking at his desing, studying his warped anatomy. A piece of art.

I haven't Fused her yet, but I see the Harlot (Mother Harlot) makes an appearence in P3. I need to up my Empress S. Link however before I make her. She's my all-time fave SMT demon. I levelled her up to Lv99 in LC and maxed out all her stats ^_^

Chi You was a new demon design I hadn't seen before - like Satan, he had a really interesting anatomy. Plus, he was an awesome attacker.

I have a 92% Persona Compendium at the minute and I'm on my Second Cycle and I hope to see some more interesting designs.
Who the hell is Arisato?
I liked Mamoru and Akinada and maxed out both their S.Links. I didn't max out Yukari (she annoys me a tiny bit) but Chihiro. She was interesting and Melchzeik (sp?) was worth it. She took bloody ages though - I worked on her through the whole game. I maxed out the Old Couple, Little Girl, Unusual Monk, Rival Athlete, Dying Young Man (that one stayed with me), Treasurer, Business Man (I LOVED him!) and got to Rank 9 on Temperance. I've printed off the Perfect Maxed Link guide from gamefaqs and am currently working on a "perfect" S.Link game. I'm interested to see what happens with Mitsuru, Fuuka, Yukari and Hidetoshi - he was rather interesting.

I go back to university in a week. Yay!

True. P3's intro video blew me away. The animation is sexy and I do like the character designs, although when I saw Lucifer's very "Kazuma" face I kinda wished for the old Megaten artist. I really love the way he draws faces.

Isn't there already a SMT game for the DS? Or I have I just seen screenshots of a very similar art-style?
35  MEGAMI TENSEI™ Uncensored / Velvet Room / Re: Persona 3 Fes in UK on: September 10, 2007, 09:47:05 PM
Personally, I'm not sure which is better - Persona EP or P3. I'm still deciding. EP's story had something more to it than P3, but P3 is more fum to play through (I'm sorry, but the amount of time you had to grind for Alice in EP was NOT fun).

I discovered anime about a year ago and got pretty into it - Elfen Lied, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Cowboy Be-Bop, Outlaw Star and Tokyo Majin were all pretty cool. I liked Bleach for a while, but got sick of that Inoe (or whatever her name was....flimsy female character) and the fillers. I always hated Naruto (that must have a goddamned ARMY of cosplayers) and One Piece (animation was too slow). My boyfriend currently watches Gurren Lagann (he's obsessed with mecha >.<) and my other friends watch things like Ergo Proxy.

I kinda got bored with anime though. It's so expensive to buy (then again, who buys anime?) and I have a much bigger passion for RPGs. Plus, after just a year of watching anime, it's so easy to spot the constitutions it's made for itself. So many series are so similar and boring and the character stereotypes just get irritating after a while - the hero with an annoying whiny voice, the huge-boobied heroine, the unfunny sidekick, the strange Japanese humour....it just got to me in the end. The very slow animation and point-blank terrible animation (last episode of Tokyo Majin anyone?) in some cheaper animes are plain painful to watch sometimes.

I would prefer a PS3 SMT to be honest. I would love to see a next-gen SMT with the graphics etc - some of the demon designs would look amazing. Oh my god, a Lv99 Lucifer in next-gen graphics xd

I can't see SMT being on the Wii. How would Atlus market it? How would they imply the controller? SMT is a bit dark to be on the Wii. Sure, there's Far Cry, but SMT is a little bit more disturbing in the head than just baseless guts 'n' gore.

I have to say - the Wii is the last console I'd like to see it on. I don't have any particular hatred for Nintendo or anything, it's just the Wii....I mean, it's so clean and sparkley and cute. It's just so not Megaten.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention my fave game. Hmm....prolly a toss-up between Lucifer's Call and Persona Eternal Punishment. I think I'll go for LC - it's just so huge and epic. The "sandbox" RPG.
38  MEGAMI TENSEI™ Uncensored / Velvet Room / Re: Persona 3 Fes in UK on: September 10, 2007, 09:21:06 PM
I can definitely see where Neao is coming from. Persona 3 is an extremely exhausting game - almost as epic as Lucifer's Call (if you don't know, Lucifer's Call is the UK name for Shin Megami Nocturne Maniacs). Atlus will prolly just release a transcribed version of the NTSC-US original, hence why Europeans always get inferior copies i.e. the big black borders.

Fes is a curiousity more than a must-have for me. I have gotten my monies worth out of P3 and not playing FES would just be another game western gamers have missed out on. Look at Shadow Hearts Covenant: Director's Cut.

I do believe a PS2 chipping system for NTSC PS2s exists in the forms of disc swapping and modding/chipping. I think you'll have to search pretty hard for it though.
39  MEGAMI TENSEI™ Uncensored / Velvet Room / Re: The July full moon event fuckign OWNED on: September 09, 2007, 07:41:55 PM
The full moon events are awesome. The Hanged Man....wow! The Arcana bosses are so awesomely designed (I loved the Hierophant) and there's some real humour/character development in them.

I've completed the game - 110 hours - and I'm now on Second Cycle. Pretty strange you get to keep your levels, kinda sucks the fun outta the game. On a plus note, I'll be seeing Lucifer a whole lot more. Very clever design (see the similarities between his design and a design from another Megaten game?).

On Amazon.co.uk, it says they expect Persona in 2008. I did read somewhere (I honestly can't remember) that KOEI are going to publish it. I think there's a good chance it will - all the Megaten games that have come out on these shores (I also live in the UK) have done well so it prolly will be released.

I wouldn't bother though - we won't get the shiny packaging or the artbook. Plus we'll most likely get big, black PAL borders. The NTSC copies are superior anyway. Alas, you need a chipped or modded PS2 to run the game. My one works fine.

Yay! I'm a proud 3.52 M33-4 user and not regretting it.

Thanks for all your help, people. Truly appreciated.
42  Be Your True Mind / Digital Millennium / Re: Persona PSP Wallpapers on: August 14, 2007, 12:51:48 PM
That's the second time you've helped me out aero :)

They're really nice (except the bottom one). I really like the chibi one, but I think I shall have all of them.
43  Be Your True Mind / Digital Millennium / Re: PSP Homebrew? on: August 14, 2007, 12:49:14 PM
Aha! Lumines ULES-00043 (the exact version I need) is a thriving market on eBay, so everything's good.

aero - Remember there are no "PAL" or "NTSC" PSP games (I only said my PSone games were PAL) - whether it be upgrading or downgrading, the only important thing you need is that Lumines (I think). There's loads of Lumines being sold on eBay with easy guide CDs as well for as little as £20 (quite a good price - around $15).

Now I just need money. Oh well, as long as I know where the links are (I've bookmarked everything) it should be fine.

Thanks for your help everyone!
44  Be Your True Mind / Digital Millennium / Re: Persona PSP Wallpapers on: August 13, 2007, 06:49:33 PM
Linkage please.

It's sucky, because the PSP has a very letterbox screen size often pictures on wallpaper sites are usually horribly stretched by people (what's the point?) and, as I said, it's often anime, Gears of War (fab game. overrated) or porn. Or a disturbing mix of porn and anime (14 year old Evangelion characters? Check).

Creepy.
45  Be Your True Mind / Digital Millennium / Re: PSP Homebrew? on: August 13, 2007, 06:26:52 PM
I've read that Lumines IS the game you need, regardless of copy (although I'm gonna buy a pre-owned copy to save money). It's a "particular" GTA game that you need so you might have mixed those up, aero.

Plus, Lumines in the UK is common king

I'm pretty OK with what I've read - my one fear is bricking. It's a 0.00001% chance of happening but I'm still worried. I'm going to stick to the step-by-step guide like glue. I don't wanna mess around with Flash anyway.

Thanks for your help, aero. Really appreciate it - when this is done, then every Sony console I will have ever owned will have been modded in some way. Serves 'em right.
