The boards are ordered based on who is likely to be interested in them, and how often. The final board is more of a meta board about the forums, so if you're interested in the forums in that sense, just make more of an effort to look down there. I recommend you use the "unread posts" link at the top of every page. Otherwise I don't think this software has a list of unread posts period (if someone finds out how to let me know)

As for the forum layout, I really like it, and it took me more than 2hrs I'm sure (no thanks to a couple bugs in browsers) so you'll just have to get used to it. If you have any suggestions about the layout, please deposite them in the development forum (The Underground)

The basic philosophy behind the layout won't be changing however -- that is the post text wraps around the avataar. If not for this, your current avataar for instance would generate nearly half a page of white space per post for many display resolutions  tongue
Well...I suppose you have a point...

But, this IS gonna take some getting used to...and it'll possibly confuse newcomers...

(But there still isn't a way to make this look prettier.....it's way too....nirvana...)

EDIT:  Holy crap.  Dude...sorry, but there's NO way you can like the way the quote function looks now...

I can't help you personally, but drop these by Rumbel-Subs.  They might be able to give you a hand...

However, they DO have a rather tight schedule.  But if you can do it yourself and JUST need a translator, stop by ETC...  Those guys have a lil bit more free time since they just finished their biggest project not too long ago.

I'd say that looks weird...btw...  I think we'll need a slight forum reorganization...this is the second time I missed something important because it was placed at a random spot.  face15

I suggest you put Karma Palace and The Underground at the very top of the boards.  The bottom is traditionally for stuff like locked threads and other wacky thingies...

Dunno if you noticed...but, the forums went pretty crazy glitchy right now.  Simply put, in a single post...everything is mixed up; post options, user stats, and the post itself...

It'd be super if this could be fixed soon.

yksehtniycul...Emillio's post count is "666."  I'd say that's a bad omen, lol...  face15

Anyways, I'm game if you are.  Any place will be fine for me.

Maybe we won't be able to rely upon this forums newsletter facilities  sweatdrop
Yeah...but, I mean, look at it.  It worked the first time, right?

Don't rely on it...but, don't give up on it either.

Nope.
38  Reincarnation / Beta Opening Only / Re: Would anyone like to help clean out the bots? on: September 04, 2008, 07:40:01 PM
Wow, I must've deleted more than 100 bots in all.

I wonder how they all got in?? Perhaps Tony wasn't using any counter measures  sweatdrop
There really aren't any true countermeasures...  The best for now is a human check during the registration process.
39  Reincarnation / Beta Opening Only / Re: Would anyone like to help clean out the bots? on: September 01, 2008, 08:45:13 PM
Isn't this haphazard?  Cleaning out members just because of conspicuous usernames?

I'm not holding my breath on this...  face15

I like the fact that you're allowing the members to publish their own news finds through editors.  Very cool idea.  Much better than badgering the staff through PMs.

I won't mind doing it; working as an editor, or reported...or both!   smug

^What does that mean?
It means I'm the only person around here that is into SMT.  Online and off...

45  Post Apocalyptic Hellscape / Karma Palace / Re: New Rules for Posting *work in progress* on: August 25, 2008, 12:06:45 AM
I'm dead serious.

Ok, then your proposal is "no rules", so just post, "I propose no rules!"

Unfortunately we lack the infinite resources required to moderate a society without rules. Nor can we afford to risk the operation of the website to the premise that if there are no rules, nothing bad can happen, and if it does some resolution can be conceived on spot, by what authority, and by whose hand.

Understand this forum is also the means by which development of the website will be orchestrated and the venue from which users may be elevated to do so. Any moderators will be expected to follow this code of conduct or they will no longer be moderators. Moderators just can't invent their sense of purpose on the fly without disenfranchising users.

These rules aren't open to negotiation. Jose as the presumed individual legally responsible for the website will sign off on them. You're welcome to comment or ask for clarification. Your comments might inadvertently influence the scope and tenner of the rules.

Basically I advise you to first read the rules, and then decide if they will actually effect your own business here. If not, please respect our attempt to accommodate others as well.

Also bear in mind, as I'm forced to acknowledge your posting, you're delaying the publishing of the new forum. After the forum is finally published I won't have as much time to allot to it. I'm a bit perturbed already that it has taken so long to do so.

I'm not denying the rules or anything, nor will they be a hindrance to me either.  :<  I'm just saying later down the road, it'll become less troublesome...

But, if that's what you and Jose think, then that's how it goes.
