I don't know of other games, but there is a Futurama episode with a somewhat similar basic plotline. Fry finds this dog in the present that waits for him for years, not knowing Fry went to the future. It eventually dies. It's quite a sad episode.

yes,but depend the language of the episode in mexico the dog is called "Simourdiera"is like "if he dies" or something like that , but is a really sad episode,the dog is white like koromaru but,really i dont know
