Title: Alternate Slimbox Mascot
Post by: DevilRy on October 23, 2008, 12:38:00 AM
Can we use Inaba Shirousagi

instead?

I can totally clean it up nice and fancy with a transparent background and everything.

The slimbox icon is a loading/hourglass icon. It's hard to tell but the rabbit has a clock. If you want an alternate icon it should feature a clock.

I hardly see how it matters seeing as how the clock doesn't move/isn't apparent.  It honestly looks like a handbag to me.  I figured it was some sort of rabbit-theme.

But whatevs.  I don't think there's another nakama in Megaten that features a clock.  There's that angel clock from Soul Hackers but I can't seem to track an image down outside of the game manual.

Have you already seen on the sprites I upload a long time ago?

The angel clock doesn't have a sprite as far as I know but no, it's not in the Soul Hackers stuff you uploaded. :(

The Rabbit's name is Tick-Tock supposedly:

It looks fine I guess, though I wonder whether it's a character or devil or what? Must be based on Alice's white rabbit -- shirousagi.

What is the devil you're suggesting about btw?

It looks good for what it is I think. Speaking of which, this website could probably use some Devil Children articles if anyone is in to that. Surely there are some adults out there in to it? Traci seemed to be in to it, but I never heard back from her :frown:

You're welcome to try, but you'll have a hard time finding a sprite that won't standout anymore than necessary.

I have all the sprites of the Devil Children if you need them.

Maybe if you can contact her (http://www.digitaldevildb.com/bbs/index.php?action=profile;u=255), since she is really attracted to the Devil Children series as far as I know.

He's like a franken bunny rabbit in Soul Hackers.  He's also a white rabbit god from Izumo mythology.

It's probably more trouble than it's worth, agreed, but I'm just personally not a huge fan of Devil Children.

The site is not going to personally ask people to get involved. Besides, if they're not volunteering, what makes you think they'd wanna help if put on the spot :sweatdrop:

Well it's not so bad to have graphics representing from all the game's styles

PS: Can anyone think of any other Lewis Carroll devils in Megaten? I think it's a pretty ok place to go for non-traditional devils.

I guess mostly I question its appropriateness.  Its not so bad true but not so great either.  :sweatdrop:

Seems appropriate enough to me

I'm thinking we could use a tiny slimbox mascot to put next to slimbox images / link to the slimbox explanation page.

I'm not saying your Inaba Shirousagi is right for the part. But we could use something, preferably looking to the left and indicating in the direction of the images to it's side. For instance, something with a magnifying glass might be cool (you'd probably have to edit that in)

It's hard to say what would fit the rest of the site, but it seems like there should be an indicator.
