Title: Official Introduction Thread
Post by: Philemon on August 21, 2005, 06:08:48 PM
Hi I'm Philemon :) Nice to meet everyone!

Philemon! There will be no introduction threads! It is the way of 's/him'(you should know who I'm talking about) but welcome. :) I'm hoping to get more members over here.

Philemon need not an introduction. You are the one who lives in the place between Consciousness and Unconsciousness in all humans. You are thou thy, and thou art I. Or something.

I figure if we're not going to have a big introduction forum, we'd probably be best off having a singular introduction thread for everyone to post in when they register (if they wish).

So here we go! :blah:

Tony knows me, I don't really recognise anyone else.

I'm a writer, artist, and a fencer.

I'm not that well-versed in SMT, but I beat Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne after my friend got done with it, and I snagged Persona 2 off of eBay recently. My PS2 got hit by lightning, so all I can really play it on right now is my computer, which means there's usually better things I could be doing.

I look forward to meeting all of you!

Hey everyone. I'm pretty much new to the SMT series, as I've only played DDS. It was an awesome game, and I found this place while looking for some sort of fan website about the series.

Hello, I chose to go about a more deeper approach to this forum with a different user name rather than stating "I'm Zidargh.", just like everywhere else.

I look forward to seeing where this forum will go.

Hello everyone!  I found this place about a couple days ago, but I thought I'd want to have a SMT signature/avatar before I joined. :)  Thanks Tony for hosting the Jack Latern picture.

Anyways, I'm semi-new to the SMT series.  I played Nocturne while my friend was on vacation during the begining of the summer, but didn't get far in it before I had to give it back. :|  I recently bought DDS and almost done with my first playthrough, as well as anxiously wanting for DDS2 to be released so I can nab it.

Other than that, I'm from the USA; Nevada to be exact.  I'm probably one of the more "younger" users here, but whatever!  But that ends my introduction.

Glad to meet you all!

And within the context of this thread, neither are you.

But on topic, it's good to see people are interested in the majority of Atlus' series. As I live in England, I doubt I'm going to see the games off shore before you do so this means I get a better idea of whether to get 'em or not.

How so? You're the one who said "rather than having 'Zidargh' everywhere.", which made no sense to me. Explain.

Hello all.  Just stumbled across the site by accident, but I really like what I see so far.  I was introduced to the Megaten universe back in '96 when I decided to pick up Persona MIP instead of Suikoden for something to play over Xmas vacation and I have been a fan ever since.

That's a pretty good guess, but it's not. It's from Fruits Basket, and his name happens to be Yuki. He's my favorite character from the series. And thanks for the welcome, Argilla.

Heh. Chaos Hero's designs (both forms) are my favorite in the series. I like how Kaneko kind of gave Roald a Chaos Hero-esque look to him. And you should play the original -- I find it to be the best in the series. More people should play it, heh...

I actually tried.
But then I got to the mall in the beginning and I got so hopelessly lost.  Especially since all the corriders look the same.
Not to mention I kept dying. +___+
I'm kinda a bad gamer...  I swore I'd try again though.

If you saw some of my posts, may be you noticed I'm not from an English country. I'm from Argentina, where we speak Spanish. But I love English too, so I'm here to make some friends. For those who want to add the MSN, it's himi.tomoki@hotmail.com (EVERYBODY are welcomed).

First of all, sorry if I make some mistakes, but I'm learning English. So... please, forgive me... XD

Well, I'm leaving, because I have to go... see ya and congratulation for this great forum...

Heh... you got two Jack Frost loving newbies in a row it seems.

I got in to the series fairly recently...  I'm a large fan of monster raising stuff in general, so quite a while ago I got in to Devil Children.
Didn't really pay attention to the rest of the series for a while, until Nocturne was coming out here.
It looked kind of interesting, so when I found a copy at EB Games I decided to try it out, even though I didn't know much about the game.  Aaaaand I ended up getting hooked and after Nocturne and DDS, I've become pretty obsessed with the series.

So yeah... I'm really in to games, animation and comics in general... mostly Japanese ones, but I'm not incredibly picky. Favorite genres are RPGs, Puzzle Games, Fighting games and all those franchise-y mascot games like Sonic, Kirby, Megaman, etc.
Far as anime/manga goes, my favorite genres are Shounen, Shoujo and weird shows in general (also worthy of note, my favorites of either genre are some of the weirder and/or more spastic series).

Well, that's my intro... hope I didn't ramble on too long.

Welcome JackFrost, Icy Age and Morzas!
Now that Morzas mentioned the Megaten Haven, I´ve remembered a nice tradition they had in the old days: They always asked the newbies wich game was their first contact with the series and wich was their favorite.
Sounds like a good tradition, right?
I´m not trying to steal somebody´s ideia, and besides, I doubt they invented that, but it´s a nice way to make the newcommers feel more confortable.
So how about we do this here, Tony? :blah:

Just signed up once I saw the board.  I've been an avid fan of Persona for a while, but I'm also into Digital Devil Saga.  I'm also a pen and paper RPG hobbyist, and I'm in the process of converting both Persona and Digital Devil Saga into the HERO system.  I'm looking to converting them to the new World of Darkness system too in the future just for kicks.

*waves to everyone* :)

Thanks for joining. I was glancing over your post about that HERO system you came up with... I'll definitely be commenting on that when I have the time to really sit down and read it all. Looks very interesting.

Cool.  Was actually worried that there weren't many tabletop rpg players here.  Pretty much got hooked on the games with Persona 1, and it still remains a favorite.  Digital Devil Saga was fantastic though. :D

Hi all!  I'm new...

I picked up SMT: Nocturne because I saw the Atlus logo on it after I had fallen in love with Disgaea...  Nocturne kicked off a "must have all things Atlus" binge...  The SMT series is by far my favorite stuff from them and I've managed to get my hands on all the US released titles except for the Game Boy titles and Jack Bros...  Look forward to hanging out here with y'all!

I'm new here. I might as well give a full, proper introduction:

My name is Miguel. I'm 22, and I live in New York City.

I have been following the series since the first installment of Persona, and I pretty much went back to play the earlier import titles. This series is probably my second favorite rpg series (next to the original Phantasy Star series for the master system and megadrive), and I cannot wait for the next installment to reach the U.S.

Anything else needed, you can check out my myspace right here (http://www.myspace.com/dr_frostbite).

Thanks for joining the forums. I guess posting on 1up did a little something heh.

Persona was my first game related to the series as well. It's probably why I'm interested in Persona 3 to such a huge degree.

What is the resolution on the PSP anyway? I was going to make some wallpapers fit to that, but it just never happened. Now is as good of a time as ever.

Hi. I'm a new member (obviously) who stumbled upon this little Megten treasure trove whilst searching one night. I thought I'd introduce myself and say hi.

I'm British, so I know little in the way of Megaten games (only SMT:Nocturne and DDS1 have ever made it over here in terms of ANY Megaten games) but I've become very interested in them. I'll see you all round after I sort out an avatart and all that.

Hello!

I've posted earlier already, now decided to introduce myself properly.

I discovered this site through the english Wikipedia, while I was analyzing some MegaTen series related info. I got interested in the series after playing Nocturne, which was a relief RPG-wise.

I come from Lithuania, a very small country in the geographic center of Europe. Gaming is not what people do back here. I don't even know if there is a proper video game shop, aside from all of the supermarkets.

Apart from gaming I do music, beatboxing to be more specific. I listen to everything from Jazz to Jungle, practically everything that's in any way asociated with Hip-Hop music and culture.

I guess that I'll be staying on these boards, so be seing you all!

Hello, I found your site a while ago but just decided to join recently. I started liking this genre when Persona first came out and have adored it since! I can't wait for Atlus to translate SMT: Devil Summoner and Persona 3! I really hope that they make SMT for the Nintendo DS, that would TOTALLY rule, I love having demon companions and even transforming ones! Anyway, just introducing myself and saying hi, so um, hi!

Currently owned: Persona w/guide book, Persona 2 w/guide book, SMT:Nocturn w/guide book, Soundtracks to above games, Demikids light and dark,  Revelations: Last Bible, shitajiki to persona and some random doujin.

Howdy!

I found this site/forum through random searches for DDS info. Must say I love it to death. ^_^

Anyway, the intro!

1) Your Name? Robby, or Rob for short!

2) Why ya joined this forum? Well I've been lurking for quite a while now, and decided to finally register. =)

3) Your favorite Anime(s)? RahXephon, Bleach, Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu, Full Metal Panic!, .hack series, Ah! My Goddess

4) Your Favorite Game(s)? Shining Force series, Atelier Iris 1 & 2 (looking forward to Ar Tonelico!), Valkyrie Profile. Digital Devil Saga 1 and 2 (currently replaying Digital Devil Saga 2).

5) Favorite Book(s) - Lord of Chaos by Robert Jordan, Chronicles and Legends trilogies by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman. Also truly enjoyed the RahXephon mangas.

6) Movie(s) - Spirited Away, Die Another Day, X-men and Spiderman movies.

I'm also a avid fan of Doctor Who, got hooked as a child when my family and myself first watched Tom Baker's adventures. Enjoyed the second series that recently aired on BBC1 (go go TARDIS!). Also a large Smallville fan, owning seasons 1-4 on DVD and eagerly awaiting the season 5 box set. Used to be a Sony-lover seeing as the PS1 and PS2 had the most variety of RPG's out of the console wars...but with the PS3 looming, I'm not sure I can (or want to) spend that much money for "another computer".

Anyhow, my IM info is in my profile so feel free to hit me up. If I'm home and on the PC, I'll gladly chat. ^_^

Hiya all. Just joined up here.

A bit of personal history - I started out on my Megaten craze about a year ago while browsing for SNES RPG ROMs. I found the translations of both SMT and SMT2 (and I wish If... was translated...), and immediately got hooked by the otherworldy dream sequence in the first. I could tell this would be an exciting, nostalgic experience. I proceeded to buy both America-localized Persona games for the PS1, which was no easy task considering their rarity. They didn't have the nostalgia of the SNES games, but they were still excellent games. Just yesterday, I recieved Digital Devil Saga for my birthday (Not a cheap find at this point, mind you), and hence devour the SMT experience once again. I'm looking to bag Nocturne and DDS2 as well; DDS2 should be quite easy to nab but Nocturne I may have trouble with.

Of course, I'm also looking forward to the upcoming Persona 3 and Devil Summoner releases. And also pray that Imagine will come to the states. (Hah!)

Near the end of its run, the original Megaten Haven board started to fall into slight disarray with idiots like Audrey -- I know you didn't mind her, but she turned everything into spam and she just wasn't funny. It was cool Brand was willing to take over the board and start anew, but it is a complete crap fest. Every thread eventually turns into some sort of fight. It is a spam graveyard.  They will get banned, it will calm down for a month, and then it will start again.

Title: Re: Official Introduction Thread
Post by: Tony on October 11, 2006, 05:30:57 PM
I personally stopped going to MH because of those reasons. I didn't go for very long, however. I do appreciate its history, though. It's ran by some nice people and it definitely gets good traffic and news, but the attitude of a handful of people there turned me off completely.

I suppose the same is true of the official Atlus boards at times... but that's mostly because there seems to be a clique that kind of has its own inside jokes and so forth. For someone like me who rarely visits it's very hard to just jump into it.

But really, I suppose this isn't the place to get into all of that. All I know is that I don't have much tolerance for people being jerks and Argilla has even less than that lol. The only non-spammer banning work has been through her, but I don't think it was a regrettable decision.

Title: Re: Official Introduction Thread
Post by: Kakizaki on October 11, 2006, 07:10:19 PM
I am a frequent poster at the Atlus MBs, and at times we can be rough -- If you can stick it out, it really is a pretty good board. It is hard to explain unless you are a regular there.  It isn't nearly the mess that the MH boards are, spamming is kept at much more tolerable levels.

I believe I know of the banning you speak of -- I didn't have a problem with it. That particular person could be quite a jackass at times.

Title: Re: Official Introduction Thread
Post by: Argilla on October 24, 2006, 09:35:10 AM
Audrey's post were alright at times...I mean, the times where she actually SETTLED down which was pretty rare but then, she'd start back up again. D: I haven't been to MH for awhile and I don't really intend to anymore. There are a few good people I know there but other than that, pretty much every topic went...off-topic. :\

Tony - I feel the same with the Atlus MB boards, haha! I was thinking about registering there before but ah, not sure if I can just jump right in either. XD;

>> Hey, guys.

I'm just an avid DDDB site user (it's awesome, very nice place to point people towards, who don't know about MegaTen) from sunny Malaysia, and thought this was a good place to be involved in after a while. Not too busy, not too sparse, not too YOUFAILATMEGATENFOOL.

First game I picked up was actually DDS. Later, a friend kicked my ass and my pants a few times when I told him I didn't pick up Nocturne when it was in a store sometime earlier. I eventually got a copy of it, and along the way I acquired Kazuma Kaneko addiction (any support groups for this?). I'll admit I'm mostly in it for the character and demon designs, and I'm a mythology hobbyist so I tend to play "Guess The Demon" or something like that. I dig the WTF moments brought out by MegaTen/K-K.

These days, my MegaTen-related interests go between keeping track of the translation projects (P2:IS and Soul Hackers must be ENGLISH'd!), finding elusive art books (preciousPandemoniumVol1precious) and bonus discs, and the occasional mildly related fan art (http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/38387768).

...and I type a lot. Been told before. ^_^;;

I have been in love with the Shin Megami Tensei as long as Shin Megami Tensei: Luciferi's Call (or Nocturne which is also called in the States) came to Europe and I do hope more is on it's way. Also, I own the Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga too which also quite nice but I prepher the first SMT game I brought. ^^

Hi there! I joined the board a loooong time ago and have just gotten around to posting (hay i r loser -___-) but yeah. I started with Persona way back in the day -- and played Persona 2: Eternal Punishment when it was brought over. Then after those I continued my loser streak and kind of stopped there. But all of then sudden, I have gotten back in the kick when I found Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner at Gamestop one day.

The next week I went crazy and got Digital Devil Saga, Digital Devil Saga 2 & Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne off of ebay. And I'll be playing all three of those once I finish DS. In other words, I'm very excited to be back into the fandom. ;D Also excited to be back at the board~

Meep! Hiya everyone! I'm not really new, since I've been lurking around for a while, so I finally decided to register here XD I actually got interested in the SMT series through Demikids. Yes, you heard me, Demikids :P It's not that bad of a game, kind of that bridge between pokemon and SMT...except, ya know, pokemon doesn't have any succubus in it XD Then I played Nocturne, (still play it for fun, though everyone else in the house is sick of seeing me play it :P) the DDS series, and I still gotta get through Devil Summoner too, now I'm trying playing the online game.
I've been a fan of mythology, especially dragons, even before getting into the megaten series, so don't mind me if I start going into a dweeby mythology rant or something XD
o.O I think that's an adequate intro, a bit much, I hope there isn't a word limit or something on posts.

Since some weeks I got Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne , and I am hooked with the style and game. And looked for more info, and that is how I ended up here. :P

That's all!

Nice to meet you all.

Currently games I am playing:
- Final Fantasy IV Advance
- Star Ocean 3
- Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne

I can never get the original SO patched properly. There's an English patch as well as a graphics compression patch... I can never get them going at the same time. If the graphics are fine, the game's in Japanese.

I did own SO2 for a while. Decent game, horribly translated. I sold it not too long ago on eBay for a decent amount.

I have owned SO2 twice -- sold it the first time. It could be decent, but as Tony said, the translation leaves a lot to be desired.

Hi, I'm Traci.  I'm one of the writer staff contributor people.  I don't normally sign up with my real name in forums, but I figured I ought to because that is what I am listed as and we wouldn't have to deal with the several million online aliases I do have.  That would be ridiculous "Ok so her real name is Traci, but her username is suicide_sal, but gogo is her nickname and her email is knoxcaliver...... riiiight."
And I would'nt like to cause anyone that drama of figuring it all out.
There is nothing of much consequence to say now, but if you have a burning desire to know anything else; I try to not make it difficult for people to contact me.

Hi, I'm a fan of the MegaTen series... Own Persona:Revelations and Persona2:Eternal Punishment, and am playing (slowly) through SMT1 for SFC (well, with the AG Translation Patch). Would like to play SMT:IF but hardly know any kana... I know there's a walkthru but it's not the same.

I like "cyberpunK" games, anime, and movies in general... big fan of Ghost In the Shell, The Matrix, etc. and got into programming partially to make tabeltop RPGs less tedious.

Hi. I'm currently studying in Japan so I'm buying as much megaten stuff as I can. I recently bought SMT: Nocturne Maniacs for 150$. It kinda hurts compared to the normal version that I bought for 5$, but it well worth it!

The psx Persona games and Soul Hacker are really hard to find. I hope I'll find them someday!

But he had this ridiculous "poem" where he was trying to sound bad ass or dark or something equally ridiculous. It doesn't seem to be in this thread, though, so I don't know. Hello to all, I'm Jeimuzu :D
Decided I wanted to join a forum that liked Shin Megami Tensei games...as not alot of people in my city don't play it :(

I first got started on DD1, as it was in the pre-owned section of GAME.
Since then, have completed it, now on to DD2 which I bought a while ago but didn;t want to play until I completed its predecessor, lol.
And now I will be buying Devil Summoner later today! :D

And yes, I bought Lucifer's Call (Nocturne) recently too, I like it :D
Although I'm still a big Digital Devil fan, as I love the storyline.

In DD2 just now, I just fought Heat for the first time, now we're going to that EGG labratory.

Now to to check out the rest of the site and forums, later!

Maybe this community will be different, but seeing as this place is also completely trolled by you (and your hatred for all things that you don't directly relate to) I'm beginning to doubt it.

Hopefully this community will be different, but I have to be honest, you contributed a lot of ridiculous crap (I couldn't stand your threads with YA/Buttqueen/whatever), and I am not looking forward to you here if you post in the same manner -- that idiotic junk is the reason I have no interest in that place. I sometimes have found Heat's act irritating in the past, but he has been far from trolling here.

I'm a gamer/game journalist on the side... I just finished playing through Persona 3 and man, that game was wonderful... I'll be posting up some vids/screen caps very soon!

I can't recall many threads I posted in with Audrey but I guess they left a lasting impression...?  Even then I just thought what she had to post was usually pretty funny, especially since everyone seemed to take her so seriously.  The crowd there though was/is generally a pretty antisocial bunch.  I just remember posting a lot of music and manga related stuff, maybe a few projects I was working on at the time, and getting in a lot of pointless arguments with some needlessly condescending characters.

Well, as always, if you're in a situation where you feel a post is unnecessarily mean/rude/stupid or if someone is just being completely ridiculous in general you can just let me know and I'll see how I can deal with it. You can just PM or report the post with that little icon. Getting frustrated and turning things into an even bigger argument rarely work out in my experience.

It's certainly not my intention for this place to be a source of aggravation for anyone, although I also can't make every last person on the planet happy either lol. Sometimes the balancing act will piss a couple people off no matter what you wind up doing.

It would have been slightly funny if 100% of her posts weren't the same crap. It isn't so much that anyone took her seriously. The act just got old. Real old. More than once it also spilled into legit threads, especially on the old MH boards. If it makes you feel better, there are several others that were far more annoying than you were. I still do not understand Michael to this day.

Hey everyone. I'm very new to the Shin Megami Tensei series, found out about this game about a month ago. I've been playing games for a good part of my life, about 9 years, and am mostly into RPGs,Action, Platformer and Adventure games with the occasional FPS. I just got my hands on Nocturne and am loving it, especially the difficulty as I'm playing on Hard:P. I think my next step would be the DDS games, as I've heard those are pretty good, if I can find them. Sadly these games are hard to come by, and aren't very popular. I came to the forums to find people to share my growing enthusiasm for this game, and hope to have fun getting to know you all.

Hello everyone. Well, what's there to say... I'm from Canada, I speak French(I even go to a French school) and I'm going into 11th grade. I like drama(acting -- but real life drama can be fun too if it doesn't involve you), writing, swimming, hanging out with friends, and poutine. If you don't know what the latter is, you're seriously missing out. And I'm a MegaTen importer, so I have a few Japanese MegaTen games... Innocent Sin is one of my prized possession. <_<

I'm mostly a lurker - I've been lurking this site for months. But I'll post in things that catch my interest.

I'm nightsavior (real name Ben). Ironically I'm posting an introduction after already conversing with you all in many posts but I figure it is good form.

I was hooked on MegaTen after playing Revelations Persona way back in the late 90's and since then have gotten DDS 1 and 2 for my PS-2. I wanted Nocturne but it became an obscure game  where I lived rather quickly.

I'm an artist that draws anime, comic book style characters, and even the left-hand dark "pervert" path of hentai. Guess I never saw sex as an "icky horrid sin".

I'm also into hiking, martial arts, reading, writing poetry, and practicing with a genuine samurai sword a friend gave me awhile back. I'm not going to say I'm a "Master" at any of these things but damn it I'm trying! :king:

I'm an SMT addict, which - obviously - is why I'm here. I caught onto the series after picking up my copy of Persona 2. While searching the net for related websites, I stumbled across information on the original series, and immediately began tracking Nocturne and DDS, which had been announced near that time.
In fact, Nocturne is the reason I bought my PS2. And in that order, for that matter.

What? I have no idea what you're asking, but the Hitoshura > Sephiroth. Sephiroth was a ridiculously mediocre character from a ridiculously mediocre game, who, with that sword, was totally compensating for something.

I do not have any interest in seeing such a battle, because it's kind of pointless, and fanboy-ish.

Hey, I've been lurking around the site for a few months now, and I finally decided to join the forums. I'm a fan of the SMT series and spin-offs, but I'm not very good and never get really far before I get dragged away onto another game =P I haven't played as many of the games as others, I'm sure. So far I've played SMT, SMT2, Devil Summoner: Raidou (ect ect ect), and Persona 3. A copy of Nocturne eludes me still, but I'll eventually get it along with DDS.

I also have an Imagine account, but I stopped playing for a while. I'm thinking of trying to join the DDDB Klan. If I don't get sucked into Xbox Live.

Other games I play: Metal Gear Series (my favorite game series), Final Fantasy (not one of those FFVII Fanatics though, my favorite is FFIV), Ace Combat 6 (haven't played the others yet), Gears of War, Counter-Strike, Knights of the Old Republic, pretty much any Star Wars game (used to play SWG before it got crappy), I'm a reformed WoW player, Golden Sun, Metroid, Half-Life, Quake, and Castlevania (especially the Sorrow series).

I have a few pet peeves, including Halo obsessors, myspace, and overly religious people (but I keep my mouth shut about them). I enjoy playing games, reading, playing Trumpet and French Horn, making noise on my guitar (because music on it eludes me about as well as SMT3), and writing. I hope to either become a writer or Air Force pilot after I graduate high school.

That was more extended than I hoped, sorry =P

Yo guys.
I've been into SMT for about 3 years.
First played SMT3:Nocturne; fell in love with it.
Everything about it.
Fusions
Turn-Based old school
Soundtrack
But most of all the Story

The story alone made me even more curious about SMT1 and 2.
So I played it on an emulator.
I don't know why, but changing the world from a law, neutral, and chaos
position has never sparked for me before. Still wondering what it is about Atlus that makes me want to play more of their games.

Just the other day I picked up Persona 3, linear and slow paced, but then again I play for the story anyway.

And that would end my intro.

Hello, I'm Tapio and for some months now I've been playing Megaten games. Well, I must tell you that I'm french so please excuse me if my english is far from being perfect.
As for the games I have played, I began with "Lucifer's Call" (which is also known as "Nocturne"), in fact it is the only Megami Tensei which has been translated into french. Besides I have played "Digital Devil Saga" and I just bought "Devil Summoner Raidou". I have also "Revelations" on Gameboy Color and the first 2 "Persona" on PS1 (but these are copies, they were not published in France...unfortunately)
To finish with I have Maken Shao on PS2 and I will soon receive the 3 Shin Megami on Super Famicom. Oh yes, I forgot to tell you, I like the Megami Tensei series!!

Hello everyone.

I'm new to these boards, but not exactly new to MegaTen. I played all the games from the classic series, and most of the spin-offs.
I'm not from the US or any english speaking contry for that matter, so excuse me if I write something wrong from time to time.

Can't think of anything else to say right now, so I'll stop here.

Beat you to it. We will do our best to get everyone  :rainbow:

I think only I can bestow +10. Moderators shouldn't try to 1pt at a time  :smug:

Title: Re: Official Introduction Thread
Post by: yksehtniycul on September 14, 2008, 11:38:35 PM
So Moderators can give Karma? How?

You should be able to see [raise][lower] buttons near the poster's karma indicator. You shouldn't do so without quoting to the precedents threads. Also moderators can only raise 1pt within a certain amount of time I think.

edited: Hmm, I don't actually see a privilege for editing karma in the moderator group... I'd assume you can, but if so, maybe only in the forums you moderate. If you can't, that is sort of a problem to look into, so let me know for sure.

Title: Re: Official Introduction Thread
Post by: Emilio Morales on September 15, 2008, 12:28:36 AM
Nope, I don't have those buttons  The only "different" buttons I see on the forums I moderate, is the "Split Topic" button. Let me know if you can find something about it.

Title: Re: Official Introduction Thread
Post by: yksehtniycul on September 15, 2008, 12:54:04 AM
I might have to put you in the Global Moderator group then. Though I'm not sure if that is a generic group imported from the old forum or not. I will lock it down first, so it's not much more than the normal member group (save for karma and maybe some other odd stuff)

That was probably the beta opening email. Must've taken you a long time to read it if the link was dead. Everyone seemed to find their way to the beta board. It was at a temporary address. There should still be a page there though.

I thought you were correcting me or something.  :sweatdrop:  I love me some Ninjatai though.

There's also a noticeable similarity between Heat's get-up and the costume your character wears in the Devil Buster mini-game in the "Old Testament" re-release of Megaten 2:

There's more than a few throwbacks and nods to the original Megaten in the DDS games.  It is Digital Devil Saga after all.

Uh...yo. 'Name's Phoenix Gamma, PG for short. Lurked the site for quite awhile, so I figured I'd join the forum.

Um...I'm not really sure what else to say. My interests are all sorts of art (I'm working on my degree in Art and Graphic Design), video games, and music. I realize that's about as bland of a bio as I can get, so I guess I'll just add that I'm pretty new to the SMT series; I've watched my roommates play some of the older games, but I didn't start playing myself until Persona 3, so I'm very much an SMT virgin. If you've got recommendations for where to start or what to play, go ahead and name them, because I totally want to be more than "another Persona guy".

I've got a deviantart that I sometimes update. I recently uploaded an entry for Games Radar's Persona 4 contest, so please check that out too! I placed second! :D I do lots of different stuff, so please take a look!

Ahoy!

You might've missed me the last week :sweatdrop:

Thing is we've been completely without electricity here for a week now :ninja:

Even the university and public libraries have been closed up after a very wet freeze turned this area into a shattered hellscape. Virtually every limb has been stripped off every tree. It's not quite Katrina but the situation was declared a federal disaster emergency. A tree limb came thru the ceiling of my living quarters actually, and my home on the range probably won't have power for weeks. I'll be sleeping in town in the meantime, but as you can guess my internet opportunities might prove intermittent for a while.

I've spent most of my free-time (other than generally behaving like a neanderthal) reacquainting myself with Elric of Melnibone and studying a particularly functional Japanese grammar book (amazon (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Japanese-Verbs-Essentials-Grammar-Practical/dp/007143514X)) in true nerd fashion.

LOL, yes, I missed it (I was looking the english version the whole time xD, but one day I thought: "why the spanish flag is here?" now I understand XDDD)

I wouldn't mind help translating, but isn't Emilio Morales already doing it?

Title: Re: Official Introduction Thread

Well translating is a ton of work, and there are soooooooo many pages... so it would be just wrong to expect Emilio to do everything?! Besides Emilio does a lot of other stuff already too. No pressure of course, but the site is setup for as man translators as possible to cooperate one thing at a time :rainbow:

PS: Eventually the flags will do something... but I haven't done that something yet :sweatdrop:

Alsoooo, I know it's really easy to miss the Espanol link at the top. But if there were more languages, especially with non-romantic alphabets the language selection would be easier to see. We're just hoping we can find more translators to help out with other languages.

Hello all respectable peoples.

I am Bluer, the presently working dictator administrator of the Megami Tensei Wiki sponsored by Wikia.

Seeing that the wiki's affiliated by the founder icysugarspike months ago, I thought I'd do the snobbish elitist good thing by introducing myself as well.... please don't hurt me...

Despite being aware that another much more famous, popular Megatenwiki exists, I've decided to help the founder establish the wiki. I've been working on wikis for three years now so I do have my share of experiences.

Megaten-wise, my first one was Nocturne, but I never did play it past the hospital. I bought Avatar Tuners 1 & 2, and even the two Raidou Kuzunoha, but the only MegaTen series I finished were Persona 3 and 4. Hah hah..

Well, happy to hear from you guys
